My sample is more focused on Sosua but even at that the girls I've encountered in Santiago were "working". Going to the Casino and going to the club. Pretty much the same thing. Even at that I spent majority of time in DR in Puerto Plata and Sosua.

Who goes to Sosua for any reason other then hookers??

i've traveled to over 50 countries in my life and most countries in latin america and i've never seen a more hooker filled city in my life than Sosua. I knew it before I went but my friend who was really into p2p dragged me there in 2014.

Even if you're not into pros, go to Sosua just to see the main street, you'll never see anything like it, once the sun goes down THOUSANDS (yes thousands) of pros come out on a strip that goes about half a mile packed to the brim in every club bar, club, nook crevice and crannie running after you like crazy There isn't one non-working girl in the entire city. I've never seen anything like it in my entire life, not even in Brazil, not even in Jaco Costa Rica where i had to live for 3 months this year for work which is the "hooker capital" of costa rica.

Maybe in Pattaya you could see something similar though I haven't been, and I doubt the Pattaya girls would be as aggressive as the Sosua chicks. Thread bump: I'm heading to Puerto Plata in a few days and will stay in an all-inclusive resort with family, I'll likely stay in the resort most of the time but also want to dip out and hit up Santiago and maybe Sosua and Cabarete. Just wondering if anyone has any intel on Puerto Plata and surrounding areas? I looked at the resort online and its popular with French Canadians which is nice but I will probably want to bang some local poon at one point, I figure Santiago might be the place for that. Any recommendations for day trips with my family, nice beaches or dive spots? Thanks.

Scotian, Santiago is not super far, but its definitely far for a night out. There is also traffic and of course, given the DR, construction, slow moving trucks, etc. Might be best to head in the AM with plans to meet someone during the day, spend some time together at an Airbnb or something, and then bounce back to PP in the evening. Lots of great gals in Santiago, especially lighter skinned gals. More conservative overall though, compared to SD.

North shore around tourist areas as you might imagine tends to be very working girl heavy. I'm told Cabarete is better, but I wouldn't go alone to Sosua with the thought of meeting a normal girl in short order. Of course, there are plenty around, working in cafes/restaurants, wherever, but the town itself is overrun by hookers in the evening.

Trip report: all inclusive resort in Puerto Plata

TLDR: Stayed at a mega resort with family, it was nice but a bit boring so uncle Scotian fucked off one night to Santiago and had a good time with the local ladies.

I've been freezing my ass off in Canada after coming back from Colombia about five weeks ago (on short notice, I was supposed to be there until April), I was getting cabin fever and bad case of the winter blues so when my sister suggested that we take off down south for a week, I was all over it. We decided on the DR because I refuse to go to Cuba and she is scared of Mexico haha, we booked an all inclusive package through Sunwing at the Rio Merengue resort in Puerto Plata and for the three of us (two adults, one child) it came out to $3,345 Cdn ($2482 Usd), which is a great price. Also, its direct flight so we flew from Halifax to PP and arrived in four hours, you can't really beat that, it takes longer for me to fly to work in Alberta!

The resort: Riu Merengue is a massive complex and I thought it was a pretty nice place overall. The beach is ok but nothing too impressive, there are multiple pools including one with a swim up bar, the food was pretty good overall (especially the chicken!) but the steak was weak which is to be expected in the Caribbean, fish was really good too. There's actually three separate resorts in the entire complex and also a small port where cruise ships dock. Clientele was mostly Canadian, including many Quebecers who, according to the staff I spoke to, are the worst tourists in the world hahaha. Quite a few Russians, Euros and I also met a few Americans but there weren't many, which is surprising considering how close it is to the US. There was nightly entertainment from 7:30 to 9:30 for kids and then 9:30 until 11:00 for adults but the place got pretty quiet after that, the night club which opens at 11pm was dead every time I went. Its unlimited drinks and food and its all included, cocktails and beer were pretty good, if you want really prompt service, give the bartenders a US dollar and you'll be good to go, although you'll still get served without it. Most resort staff spoke decent English but they definitely liked that I spoke to them in Spanish.

One thing that I didn't really like about the resort was how over priced everything that wasn't included in the package was ($80 massages, $7 cigarettes, etc) and the resort staff discouraged leaving the resort by telling guests it was dangerous, the taxis into PP were also ridiculous, quoting $40 round trip into town (15 minute drive), I walked off the resort, about 500 meters and caught a collective bus for 25 pesos or about $0.50.

Puerto Plata: I went in there a few times to pick up smokes and souvenirs and wasn't overly impressed, kind of a dump of a little town but they are actively fixing up the centre town square at the cathedral so it should be a lot nicer by next year.

Santiago: After sitting around the resort and being a good uncle and not getting wasted and hanging out with my family, uncle Scotian needed some action so I hopped on a bus into Santiago and arrived around noon. Found an awesome little Airbnb rental in a big house with apartment style rooms for $40/night (PM me for details) which is about four blocks from the monument, no security to cock block and a nice pool. I had two chicas lined up and the one in the after noon showed up on time at calle del sol near the monument, I took her to a restaurant and we both had lunch and a couple of beers, I then suggested we go back to the hotel to swim (she brought a swim suit). Thankfully it started raining so we just stayed in my room and eventually I was banging her brains out, Dominican flag captured. She had massive tits and a fat ass, light skinned morena but she must have gained a few pounds since she took her Tinder photos (not obese or anything but very thick), still not bad and of course it wasn't the first time I've banged a bigger girl, motor boating her huge cannons and bending her arse over was great, screwed two times then sent her on her way. I got there at 10:30 which was way too early so I went to a restaurant that had karaoke, ate a big plate of fish and slammed five of those big liter bottles of Presidente beer, it was loud as fuck and full of people singing, I just sat there drinking and smoking darts and trying to get girls off POF and Tinder to come out because the second girl I was trying to get out wasn't responding so I figured it was a flake. I was about to pack it in and go to the hotel when at 12:30 this girl texts me saying she was sorry but didn't have wifi but she could come and would arrive at 1:30, which was a bit later but fuck it I said ok, so I bounced to Lovera Dos and waited for her there. As I waited, I asked the server for the wifi code, which she put into my phone, as she was doing so, I jokingly asked her for her whatsapp, which she also put in, nice! Then my date showed up, a 5'2 110 lbs Haitian spinner, the waitress wasn't too impressed but fuck it, we had a beer then went across the street to grab some street grub. She had her over night bag so it was obvious that she was staying over, we then went to the hotel and there was no LMR, it was straight to pound town! I railed the snot out of her for a solid two hours, went through half a box of rubbers, it was some of the best sex I've had in awhile, we then passed out at 5am, woke up at 10 and I walked her to a bus stop. She was one of the most pleasant girls I've been with in recent memory, tight body but not the best face, I'd give her a 6. I then checked out of the hotel and took a bus back to the resort, where I chilled for two more days drinking pina coladas in the sun and enjoying my vacation time with my family. We also did an excursion near PP and did zip lining and horse back riding which was pretty fun too.

Overall impression of the DR: I really liked it, I didn't get to see as much as I liked but I will definitely be back, you just can't beat the cheap direct flights from Canada, friendly people, decent prices and easy, very approachable women with crazy T&A and friendly demeanor. I am seriously considering making the DR my go-to spot instead of Colombia but will make that final decision on my next trip which will likely be 3-4 weeks to see more of the country.

After spending around six months in each country, I believe the only things that are better in the DR than Colombia are the natural titties and the beaches.

I love Colombia but it can be a huge pain in the ass to get there, either I fly via Toronto or Houston and with layovers, it still takes about 15-20 hours whereas from Canada, I can get to the DR direct in 4-6 hours direct, which is a major selling feature. A couple things that I liked was that there's a big Canadian presence there, one of the biggest banks is Scotiabank (the bank I use) even the Quebec Hells Angels has a club house there haha. I'm considering buying a rental property abroad in the next 2-3 years and it would be a lot easier to rent to the thousands of Canucks in the DR than the limited number of them in Colombia. Also, the tourism industry seems a lot more developed in the DR and there's better opportunities for scuba diving, fishing, kite surfing, etc. Of course, I have to see more of the country to make my final decision.

It seems to me that the DR as a whole could be compared to the Caribbean coast of Colombia, maybe with Santiago comparable to Barranquilla and Santo Domingo being comparable to Cartagena and the beach towns around Santa Marta/Taganga being comparable to the north coast of the DR, what are you guys' thoughts on that? It doesn't seem like the DR cities can hold a candle to Bogota, Medellin or Cali but I've spent so much time in those places, its nice to check out a new place, especially one with fat booty women, cheap rum and awesome beaches.

From a tourism standpoint, the DR is a better option than Colombia in my opinion. The beaches are world-class and there are enough other attractions to make it worthwhile. And you'll definitely make more from a rental property in the DR.

My issue is the quality of people and interactions. Dominicans are incredibly friendly, but the women can be "chapidora" as hell. While I've met some great girls there, I've never connected with them like Colombianas.

As for city comparisons, that's tough. Cali reminds me of Santiago, while Santo Domingo is similar to Barranquilla - just double the size and darker girls.

Colombia vs DR is an interesting comparison. I think this is highly subjective. DR wins for the beaches and being able to bounce around rather easily. The girls are overall easier and its proximity to North America with tons of direct flights makes it convenient for a short trip.

I prefer Colombia for the culture and I favor the looks of the women there more. I think Medellin blows away the cities in DR for being a first rate, livable city. The Spanish is also much easier to understand in Colombia.

As a whole, yes... But the fact that it's so easy in the DR regardless of quality generally speaking I believe is the reason it's so alluring.

So I'm taking another trip here because all of my friends just had to go there. I'm going to be doing a lot of touristy things and chilling at the pool, beach, and clubs though. Just looking to enjoy a couple days off because I've been working so much. I've already gotten an Airbnb and everything.

Out of Santo Domingo and Santiago, it was easy to find guys willing to drive their own car for a day rate (in 2014-5 that is). Just around the hotels, there tend to be freelance drivers. Talk to them, negotiate a rate and pay at the end. Check the car too before agreeing so you dont end up in a shit heap with bad seats and no AC. And probably let the guy know in advance you dont need a curated tour of whores-r-us. Best way to experience Sosua in my opinion is with a gal you brought from elsewhere, as the scenery is very nice, but the local wildlife better left wild.

Thanks guys for the recommendations. I will PM you guys for more information. Need a driver with a big SUV to hold me and my friends and hopefully some shorties. But yea, I'm looking forward to chilling on the beach and just relaxing. This is very needed. I want to ATV on the beach too. Any other suggestions for fun things to do out there? I hear there is a waterfall too and I want to check that out.

So I’ve called a couple people and it may be pricey to have a driver on call all day so it may just make more sense to just pay per trip. I figured I can get a personal driver on call all day and some night for less then 100$ a day.
