Actually it is way worse than that. Off the top of my head I think there are 60,000 rapes of women per year in the U.S. and over 200,000 rapes of men. It is just that men are raped in prison so society doesn't care like we should. It needs to stop.

I can easily believe it being true, though I don't know if it is or not.

My aunt was telling me about a kid she taught in elementary school that just got out of prison. Jehovah's Witness kid who did a couple years for burglarizing homes.

He was raped.

I have no trouble believing men are raped at at least as high a rate as women. But if we were to try and use that point in a policy debate, it just falls flat because the perpetrators of rape are predominantly male.

Also, guys that rape other guys are a lot less likely to get caught.

I have spoken to a few people with experience with British prisons. It certainly is not as major a phenomena as it is in the US. Homosexuality when it occurs is consensual mostly among those with long sentences.

^Besides a much, much greater percentage of the population in the U.S. being imprisoned than the UK, there is also a much greater percentage of prisoners that have life sentences. There are a lot more guys that will never see freedom again, and that greatly affects how someone will act, as they have nothing to look forward to, and nothing to care about anymore.

The prison system USE TO be about rehabilitation since most get let out. It's now about punishment only, and rape (as it is during war) is a great tool to use. The prisons allow it because it keeps the bad guys mostly in line by sacrificing some others. But as proof of how excepted it is, how many prison rape jokes do you hear from so called progressive liberal entertainers? I remember hearing that blonde bimbo McCarthy make a joke on the view about it, just about everyone laughed..

This is my first post.

In the following video it is stated that "A 2010 analysis of Bureau of Justice Statistics data found that 46% of male rape and sexual assault victims reported a female perpetrator." As in, 54% of male rapes are committed by fellow men. In regards to female on male rape, you are technically correct, but only by 4%. Because of that small difference, I believe that the use of that point would not fall flat in a policy debate.

At 20:56 Stefan talks about male victims of rape, "forced to penetrate," etc.
