Tinder introducing "verified" celebrity profiles
In an effot to further stratify the sexual marketplace, Tinder is making it easier for girls to identify specially high status matches.

http://techcrunch.com/2015/07/07/tinder-...ous-folks/

Quote:Tinder, the dating app owned by IAC, has just rolled out verified profiles for celebrities and other notable figures. Just as you see on Twitter, verified users will be marked with a little blue check mark by their name.

From the Tinder blog:
Quote:Starting today, you may see a verified symbol on some profiles. Now when notable public figures, celebrities and athletes appear in your recommendations, you’ll know it’s for real.
It looks like this:

Rumors have been swirling the past few months that various celebrities, including Leonardo DiCaprio and Hilary Duff, had started using the dating platform.

At TechCrunch Disrupt NY in May, cofounder and President Sean Rad wouldn’t comment on whether or not those rumors are true. But based on today’s rollout, it would appear that there are at least a few big names swiping left and right out there.

Tinder also revealed that the app is seeing 26 million matches per day.

I'm not sure what to think of this, it almost seems to be a suicidal move for Tinder. Aside from the fame whores who will devote themselves to chasing celebrity dick, you'll have the legions of girls who will be swiping left on everyone that isn't obviously a celeb just to see if they match with celebs. I can't imagine what sort of ego boost occurs when some average girl matches with a celebrity.

Here I thought Roosh's "How to be a great man" was supposed to be an exaggeration, turns out the only thing he exaggerated was the projected date of 2073.

Unlimited swipe lefts but limited swipe rights for everybody unless you pay. Women are picky but hypergamy plays a big role. They're going to run through every male profile until it hits one of these icons and they will throw the pussy out there.

Fame wins again.

RE: Tinder introducing "verified" celebrity profiles
From Tinder's financial perspective, this seems like a genius move. What would a guy pay to get one of those coveted checkmarks, or to get a shot at having a female celebrity swipe right on him?

But then, from my personal perspective, even local fame isn't enough to warrant a checkmark ... therefore I'm at a disadvantage.

Gotta keep hustling I guess.

Why would famous people want to set themselves up as a target? They get infinite pussy already. This just seems like bait to get more women on board.

Tinder developers know which gender swipes right all the time, and which gender swipes left all the time. I give it 6 months before male users will have the option of buying "verified" accounts.

Put your money on it.

Agreed. Why would celebrities risk going on something like Tinder? There would be no end of bottom feeders out there trying to match with a celebrity, get them to say something compromising and then screenshot it and send it straight to a gossip site.

Not to mention the simple headline of "X celebrity caught on Tinder" just for even being on there. I can see sub-B grade celebs being on there but not anyone with any serious clout.

They would be restricted to the most banal of conversations relying solely on fame game.

RE: Tinder introducing "verified" celebrity profiles
My prediction of how this will play out:

#1: Average woman has a profile.

#2: She gets a male celeb to say something vaguely sexual -- like when James Franco tried to chat up that teenager on Instagram.

#3: She then spills the details to Gawker, crying about the "scandal" claiming he's "creepy."

#4: The celebrity is shamed and humiliated and his "brand" is damaged.

#5: Possible lawsuits are lodged in both directions. Feminist lawyer Gloria Allred senses a cash cow for women "traumatized" by what celebs say because they have "undue influence" over average women.

#6: End of verified male celebs on Tinder.

Most male celebrities have people around them warning them not to go this route. The pre-weirdness Michael Jackson even referenced this in "Billie Jean" with the line "People always told me be careful what you do."

One other thing. If you were a guy celebrity and had access to models and other top-tier women, would you get on Tinder to hook up? I would not.

It's even easier to understand this issue if you apply a simple test: How much does this bitch have to lose? Think about the times you've either banged, or considered banging, a girl who's considerably lower-rent than you (i.e., "social class," economic means, lower status at work, etc.). You're extra cautious to the degree that you often don't go through with it, or alligator-arm it (wear a condom and pull out, or something ridiculous like that). The gap is simply too large.

That's how celebrities think of the bitches you and I are fighting over here in the real world. It's like you thinking of banging the 30-something Honduran cleaning lady in your office building with the big titties and plump ass. You have a lot to lose and she has almost nothing to lose.

If the pussy is placed on a platter (e.g., in your hotel lobby at last call, or at the club you happen to be at when you balls are at peak fullness) you'll fuck a regular chick as a famous dude (see Kobe Bryant circa 2003). Otherwise, you aren't putting in work--by swiping on bitches and messaging back and fort--when you have titles to defend, Oscars to win, and hotter bitches in your phone's contacts.

Tinder continues to fail at understanding how men and women differ in the complex sexual chess game in the West.

RE: Tinder introducing "verified" celebrity profiles
I think some guys here aren't understanding why this would appeal to a celebrity, given the exposure/PR problems that scandalous women can cause by publicly posting text conversations, pics and other private details they have access to when being courted by a famous man. In my view, the verified celebrity Tinder profile is not a continuation or worsening of this "exposure risk" faced by famous men, it's a tool to limit that risk by making extended social media correspondence unnecessary in the first place.

The way famous men currently utilize social media to pull women is to directly message with them, which leaves them open to exposure with each message they type, especially if they get overtly sexual. And given that social media is global, a lot of guys get caught up messaging with girls long distance, trying to arrange a meetup and often falling into the sexting trap over time. With a Tinder profile, sex is already implicitly understood with every match, and more importantly, sex is understood to be imminent given that long distance is not an issue due to Tinder's localized nature. The famous man can just set his profile to whichever city he's currently in and browse the women who want to meet him, who by swiping have essentially indicated, "I'm in the same city right now and I want to fuck you." This eliminates the need for any further communication prior to actually meeting up in person. The celebrity could simply provide logistical details. Since both the amount of written/pictorial correspondence and the time-to-meet have been greatly reduced, the risk of exposure is dramatically reduced in turn.

In a nutshell, this is a great play for famous men. It will allow them to swoop into any city in the world and bang the hottest local chicks on the DL with almost no effort required, and very little risk of exposure if used intelligently. It's also great for hot, slutty women, many (most?) of whom would love the opportunity to have sex with a famous man - fully knowing she would never see him again - simply as an affirmation of her sex appeal she could lord over her girlfriends. The losers? Above-average guys with good game and lifestyle, who will now have to compete with famous men passing through their cities for every 8 and 9 on the market.

"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away. But the word of the Lord endureth forever.” - 1 Peter 1:24-25

I think how this works is if you Facebook Profile is verified, nonames have that stupid retarded checkbox on there.

Sooner or later another app will make this one obsolete.

This is also great play for papparazzi or anyone trying to gain fame and money by either exposing private details of celebs or ridiculous lawsuits. How would the celeb know he is talking to a real person? I can easily set up a 100 tinder acct with hot photshopped nobodies and as soon as i get that "logistical detail" i can just sell that information over. Instagram or facebook act while easy to set up are way more "verified" than tinder accounts.

Notice how they advertise it with a female "verified celebrity".

As if any female celebrity is going to want to sleep with some average joe.

This is just a promotional stunt, wildly covered by mainstream media. None of 99.9% of Tinder subscribers will benefit from this. Don't buy the hype.

Ever since I downloaded version 4.5.0, my matching rate has collapsed - even when I delete my profile, the app and the facebook link and rejoin. I no longer have the match boost by having an account a few hours' old.

RE: Tinder introducing "verified" celebrity profiles
Yup - I agree with Scorpion.

It makes it easier for famous men to fuck chicks. A-list celebs might use it sparingly, but plenty of athletes and B-listers will get a huge leg up. It will make it safer and easier for them to attract high level pussy.

There is no sexting necessary for them. A short Skype conversation and some current pics to make sure that she is not a secret internet fatty and then it's off to pound-town. Tinder for celebs is like Grindr for gays, but 100% of the girls will come to them. He gets grade A pussy delivered straight to the hotel room.

Tinder just made the online dating market even more difficult for average men. Back to back asses lined up for the mini-celebrity while even the good-looking guy gets scraps. Ah well - was to be expected.

I don't think celebrities are really going to flirt with the risk of putting themselves out there on Tinder in the hope of banging some average girl and possibly getting shamed.

This is just a cheap tactic to get more people on Tinder.
