Heritability of Mental Disorders

How heritable are different mental disorders? Depression, bi-polar, ect, ect. Been searching but does not seem like there are a lot of good sources on this. Perhaps I'm just looking in the wrong places. If you're thinking about re-producing with a woman, is knowing her family's mental health history as important as knowing medical history?

Any doctors/geneticists/psychologists care to weigh in?
