Anyone here speak Thai or have experience learning it?

I see myself coming back to Thailand many times in the future and think it might be worth it to be at least conversational.

It's a great thing to pick it up specially if you're in Thailand. There are some good schools. When I was there last winter, I got a great deal on tiktokthai.com (btw, check this site frequently as they have AWESOME deals in BKK) on 30 hours thai lessons. Unfortunately, never had the chance to start the course. This time around, I"ll make use of that certificate. I don't remember the name of the school but it is reputed to be the best to learn Thai for foreigners. I'll post the name once I remember it. I think it's something like AA English Academy or something...
