Aziz Ansari's "Modern Romance"
Has anyone read it? I'm watching him talk about it on "The Daily Show" and it seems to hit on a lot of the things we talk about here. He even references the "herbivores" of Japan. It's interesting that he's done this b/c in some of his stand up bits he touches on a lot of the things we talk about here without ever connecting the dots. He's quite popular amongst the liberal/hipster crowd so I wonder how this will go over.

RE: Aziz Ansari's "Modern Romance"
Yeah, I picked up the audiobook. I've been a fan of his comedy for a while, but his latest special was of a declining quality compared to previous ones. I got it for entertainment, because I thought it'd be enjoyable to listen to. That's the best way to read a book by a comedian, by the way.

Anyway, it was unsurprisingly a pop psychology book of the shallowest variety, making Malcolm Gladwell's books look like academic theses. It referenced a few mildly interesting studies, contained an extremely basic overview of text game after Aziz looked through thousands of text conversations and discovered (gasp) that many guys are abysmal at the medium, and told some stories from his life and the lives of people he's met.

Every chapter or so he seemed to be required by his publisher to write a few sentences about how bad women have it compared to men. It was somewhat funny and entertaining for the first couple of hours, but after that the jokes started falling flat and the material seemed to be going nowhere interesting. I wouldn't recommend wasting your time on it, unless you are a true fan of Aziz.

That's putting it nicely, I was starting to become a fan of his style of comedy but that last special was painful to watch. Dude went from 15% PC/SJW to 75%, (anything above 40% is intolerable). I kept waiting for it to get funny and before I knew it the credits were rolling.
