Purposes of man
I believe that there is a natural law of compensation, a reaction for every action made. A lot of the time the university will find a way to provide a counter balance, to a movement, lifestyle. You sow what you reap. The industrial revolution saw a big boom in free market capitalism and the reaction to this action, was the creation of Marxian Socialism. This dynamic play out, is seen on the microcosm and macrocosm, among individuals.

This may be the key to the purpose of man. As discussed throughout the Manosphere and as you can clearly see on all forms of media, men are fundamentally disposable. When you were boy, no one would care if you were bullied, abused or were going through a roller coaster of emotions. If you were lucky, there would have been parents, or family members who would give you a degree of comfort. But even this is a luxury that won't seep out into the outside world.

Ultimately comfort is a sensation, men are not allowed to have. Sensitivity and emotions will be trampled on you. As being a man, you will constantly have, even the love of your life, put you through a series of shit tests. To prove your worth and to temporarily pave over her biological insecurities.

So the question has to be asked, what does the natural of compensation, have to say about this apparent disadvantage in manhood. I believe the blessing of such a curse so to speak. Is that it will fundamentally make you more stronger than you could have possibly imagined. That is if you accept this resolve and try to ride the wave of of this uncertain disadvantage.

The pillars of civilisation were built by this stoicism. When the physical world only brings with it suffering and transience. One has to look up and seek the nearest possible thing to absolute truth that can be attained on the earthly planes. Most times this will be the attainment of a high art form, skill, trade. Or minimum benchmark of what a man should be, a leader. Leader of your family, finances, for some of those it may be a leader of a team of soldiers or even his own business. Ultimately though being a leader and master of yourself is what has to be accomplished.

RE: Purposes of man
It is not clear what point you are making.

There is not a 'purpose' to man, since they are not the instruments of something else, but standalone individuals.

RE: Purposes of man
I didn't understood any of that.

And I'm not sure I follow your notion that men aren't allowed to be sensitive in this day and age.

If anything...it's the opposite. So many bleeding heart fags who wear their emotions on their sleeves. That's actually what 'Western' women want in their men.

Stoic types are a dying breed.

P.S. What did you take before writing this thread?

RE: Purposes of man
The purpose of a man is the purpose for life. If you have found the reason for life, then you can find the reason for your existence.

Personally I think it only matters to you how you live your life. With some lives you will be more satisfied than with others.

RE: Purposes of man
Life (of men and in general) has no meaning and purpose.

Humans are essentially apes with overgrown cerebral cortex that they use to better satisfy lower emotional and carnal impulses.

As Gurdjieff once said, man cannot do, everything happens to him.

There's no action and reaction, cause and affect. There are only accidents.

That was the aim of Gurdjieff's system. To become master of yourself. Good luck in you spiritual quest of a lifetime.

RE: Purposes of man
Good thread. Abraham Maslow's work goes a long way towards an explanation. I'll include an updated version of his famous Hierarchy of Needs below.

It can be summarised in one short phrase: "What a man can be, he must be". In other words, men must constantly be improving themselves.

Women's needs can also be expressed using the same hierarchy, although they have a much stronger focus on the basic needs (lower in the pyramid). They also tend to prefer stability, not constant progress through the hierarchy.

Transcendence is poorly explained below. It basically represents a man's contributions to science, art, society, the Church, etc.

To me, the Aesthetic could also represent material / luxury possessions. I.e. things which are valuable are generally also aesthetically pleasing to some degree.

Maslow's theory was expanded by Clare W. Graves to the way better model of evolution of consciousness.

Unfortunately, the majority of RVF (myself included) are somewhere at value level 3 and won't appreciate it.
