That was scary. I didn't catch the incident live, but I did watch it back. Here it is for anyone who wants to watch it. (I can't embed start-time videos.)
I'll be looking for more details later today. All I'm hearing is that somebody tried to rush the stage. I can't see him or her in the video.

I'm also really afraid of this. I don't know what sorts of security precautions they're taking, but he seems extremely exposed, especially outdoors like this.
The outdoor ones scare me too, but I think with everything that has developed in the past 24 hours, Secret Service and Trump's people are five steps ahead and are considering every safety precaution.
The Trump rally I went to was indoors. Everyone upon entering was taken through a metal detector and patted down individually. You had to throw your cell phone, keys, etc. through a separate scanner as you were being checked. Very similar to airport security. Everything was done by Secret Service/police/government workers. Very professional.
It actually eased my overall nerves, because before I saw all that, I was very convinced that Trump would be assassinated before election day. I didn't think security measures were that thorough for the rallies.

You posted a 3 month old story about allegations from 40 freaking years ago that apparently had no legs since nobody is talking about it in the media at a time when everyone is trying to smear Trump as hard as they can, and you concluded Trump is racist because of said story. A story from a notoriously anti-Trump outlet, incidentally. And now Trump was "shitting his pants" despite being obviously calm in the moments after whatever happened. Excuse me if I don't take you seriously from here on out.

He did seem pretty calm. No change in tone, not shaking. Plus, in the video, he turns around, sees the person and moves towards him before his guys surround him.

Will GQ come back with a LA RAZZA account on the first?
C'mon now, I'd never stoop that low. La Razza are a horrible group and need to be dealt with. Not sure why the media have swept their stuff under the rug.

Trump won't do that. It would show weakness, and Trump understands the importance of image. I bet he will even be upset with that video of him being surrounded by his guards (but they had to do it Trump - go easy on 'em). Trump wants to broadcast his strength and his courage, like Reagan did. And yes, Reagan did get shot. But Reagan recovered, and his strength added to his legend. Trump is taking risks but they are within acceptable parameters. Trump's got this.
I think that would be foolish if there really is a credible threat. I get the part about showing strength but this isn't a movie where Trump gets shot, survives, and becomes some kind of hero.
I'm not even talking about the worst care scenario.

Bro, you need to up your concern troll game. 2/10.
Great Trump rally this morning, he's just getting better and better at these.
One thing that really caught my attention today was how he mentioned (at least three times I think) Ivanka's advice to him to be and act presidential and play the unifier. It's great advice and he's very obviously been more or less following it. I don't know how many guys here know or realize this, but Ivanka is a very unusual woman -- she is not only a beauty but exceptionally smart, level-headed and ambitious, and she is without a doubt Trump's closest advisor and the person with the most influence over him (he loves her to death). What is interesting and very endearing is that while he has been following her advice, he is also feeling a little petulant and rebellious about it, almost like a child with his strict mother, and that was what his comments were about -- he knows she is telling him what's good for him, but he also wants to have his fun. Very charming, actually.
As far as all the hand-wringing in all corners of the web about the events in Chicago last night, I feel it's highly overdone. I don't see Trump himself being overly bothered by it -- like he says, the country needs to toughen up a little. America is a society of great energies and vigor and they cannot forever be restrained; even some of the BLM thuggery partakes in those energies. It's not even one tenth of the events of 1968 (for example) and it's nothing to be too agitated about. No matter what happens in these elections, there ain't no civil war around the corner. People are out to be entertained and have a good time, and Trump rallies have been the most exciting American spectator sport in ages, even for the freaks on the other side. Everyone's secretly or not so secretly enjoying the show, while the SJWs and Twitter scolds whine about "fascism" or "First Amendment rights". Like Trump often says -- very correctly -- he is not getting enough credit for all that's happened, for this incredible explosion of liveliness and interest into people's lives. So give credit where it's due and enjoy the show.

That would be such a foolish thing for them to do though. Trump will only be in 4 or 8 years if he wins. If he was assassinated it would permanently wipe the illusion of democracy away, and delegitimize the power of the federal government & Washington establishment in a country armed to the teeth.
Haven't been on in a while and now I'm trying to catch up. Damn, I'm getting random jolts of energy, excitement and a feeling of unease.
Seems like the chips are being laid down. State by state. City by city. Block by block. Brick by brick. Being a spectator won't cut it anymore. Fuck, it never did any good. It brought us to this exact point.
Sides will have to be chosen. Battles will be fought. Can't describe how happy I am that I've discovered this forum. Finally I was lead to lift and see the grotesque reality behind the velvet veil. The crude masters with their puppets. But their puppets are stale and full of rust. They cannot compete with a real human being.
This is what it is all about. The human soul with all of its virtues and vices combined against the tyranny of those who believe they can subdue it. With their artificial bullshit theories which hold no substance.
People have been fed lies for decades it seems. But all it takes is an ounce of truth and their temple of lies comes crashing down.
I believe there will be assassination attempts upon Trump. Not one but many. But he will not back down. Neither will I. Neither will you. Neither will anybody.

They are not strategic grand masters but rather power hungry fools whose positions have never been threatened. Until now. Emotions rule their bodies rather than rational thought so I do not exclude a possible assassination/s.

We're probably not seeing a lot of the security stuff they're doing, as a lot of it has to do with choosing venues and routes. I think one of the biggest concerns is minimizing Trump's exposure to long range shooters, especially for scheduled events.
I'm sure they're having people at these rallies go through metal detectors and whatnot, but a skilled rifleman can hit a human target out past 1000m. High ballistic coefficient bullets from a big bore rifle like a 416 Barrett have plenty of punch to zip right through soft armor even from 1500m away. That's why the secret service has fake convoys and all kinds of stuff like that for the president. You just can't directly cover a mile radius around someone at all times.
Trump details in Art of the Deal about the case where supposedly his father discriminated against blacks. It was bunk. The government could not prove its case, and there were black tenants in all of Fred Trump's buildings.
Just more desperation by the media.
Trump really does seem to be following Louis XIV's advice in many respectat that may seem surprising to some:
Quote:The greater the merit and virtue of the prince, the harder the envious will try to dim his brilliance. Therefore some faults will be attributed to him which he is entirely innocent. Therefore a sovereign cannot live too wisely or too innocently. It is not enough to provide for general affairs, but you must regulate your own morals.
No one will ever give Trump credit for this at first glance and indeed there are ways he could probably improve it, but in many respects, he is following this advice.
