But I don't know if I would go so far to title a thread "Russia's Superior Culture" and use a charity ball as an example.
Anyone who has lived in the country for a reasonable period of time would know that such events have nothing to do with the upper class.
Russia's middle class enjoy the classical arts. They visit the opera, orchestra and ballet, they read classical literature, visit museums, paint, play the piano, etc. It is an intelligent culture. Being a 'nerd' or a 'geek' is not looked down upon here.
The Anglosphere's middle class culture, in comparison, is degenerate, and I don't say that lightly as I was part of it for most of my life.

I think this forum's love for Russia and Putin would be a bit different if people were more aware of how bad life is for the average Russian in terms of economic opportunity, and how little freedom they have, and how arbitrary and corrupt the legal system is. People are up in arms about the 1% and its influence in the USA, but in Russia the .001% rules with an iron fist and takes whatever it wants.
People romanticize it as a strong authority taking care of business and imposing order, but in reality it's just a bunch of corrupt motherfuckers feeding their greed through rent seeking behavior and squashing anyone who gets in their way.
I would recommend watching the movie Leviathan for a great movie and some insight into small town Russia.
Many guys idolize Russia because they've been treated like shit by American women, and because Russia is a geopolitical foe of the country containing the women who treated them like shit. It's a big "fuck you" to the system that spurned them, nothing more.
Traditionalist bastion of masculinity and family values, or Slavic shithole. Which do you honestly think is closer to reality?

I danced with several of the girls in the video. I'm not good enough to take home the top girls, yet, but they were all still sweet and feminine.
America beats everywhere else for diversity of hot women. You can focus on improving yourself and getting quality or you can bitch about all the free news you read that's full of useless bullshit.

You've just hit the nail on the head there mate. A lot of this forum are so fixated on race it blinds them when it comes to rationality.
Not paying attention to race would be irrational, not the other way around. You have to keep in mind though, Russians aren't and don't consider themselves fully European. Even if their skin is the same color as ours.

This blind and unconditional love affair for Russia is the male version of picking your favorite celebrity and reading all the gossip magazines you can about them, all while elevating them (Putin) to superhuman status in your mind, disabling you to see them in any form of light other than godly.

It's amazing how much negativity a harmless dance ball can engender. And being a member of the KGB meant you were enormously talented and worthy of membership in an elite organization. US media propaganda is amazingly effective.

I'm no US patriot, but lets be real. Russia is a terrible place. The whole country infrastructure runs on corruption. You may argue that we have corruption in the US too and you'd be right, but not nearly on their level. If I get pulled over by police I don't have to worry about having a few hundred dollars cash in my wallet for a bribe.
Putin is a charmer and I see why many people have been sort of impressed or taken in by him from time to time. He may seem more direct, masculine, and matter of fact than US politicians but make no mistake this guy is a power hungry imperialist and a master manipulator. This is nothing special though. Many third world countries can still be great places to visit or even live despite the governments being horrible. The real problem I have with Russia are the people themselves and the culture.
I'm going to talk in general terms here, of course each individual is different and unique. I will caveat that I have met several eastern europeans who are amazing people, but this is not the norm.
Its hard to quantify this negative dark feeling when you get in close proximity to a crowd of Russians but it almost always manifests itself right away. Russian people can be very nasty and unpleasant. They have this obvious sense of superiority to everyone else. You can experience this just by reading OP's post. They don't want to talk to you and they don't want you to talk to them. I was at an international convention several times and out of all the different nationalities represented there its always the Russians who are completely unapproachable.
Even classic Russian literature has this. I love Dosteovsky for example, but if you read his books he always presents his characters and scenarios in the sickest and darkest way.
I agree that slavic girls can be very sexy (much better than western europeans) but the personality is usually trash and the ones I've met I have found very hard to trust. In my opinion the most beautiful women on the planet come from eastern europe and latin america. Latinas however generally have a happy inviting disposition while Russians the exact opposite. I want to be with a woman who is bright and sunny, who makes my day better. I have enough gloom and doom to manage with the day to day hustle, and I sure as hell don't want more of it from my woman. Russian woman will happily marry you, rob you of all of your money, try to secretly get you to raise other mans kids, and generally make your life miserable. These people have the lowest reservations to lieing, cheating, and stealing. One good thing is she probably does cook, unlike the ever useless american wannabe man woman.
Show me a crowd of gloomy Russians and a crowd of happy Brazilians. I'll go to hang with the latter every single time.

I'm just sitting here thinking try the same independent of location business idea or get even close to a similar lifestyle in Russia as you do in America in terms of paycheck while living in Russia and you would be laughed out.
For all its faults the United States is still one of the best places to live in order to make good money and live the lifestyle you want. The average Joe over there would be locked into the same job and sedentary paycheck to paycheck lifestyle without any chance to move up.
Also no Russian culture is not superior as Southern Christians espouse those same values that some of you guys find uplifting. Difference is the South still has land whales, and those hardcore religious girls end up being the biggest freaks out there.
So yes let's be honest the women and lifestyle with AMERICAN money in Russia is better than here, but by no means would it be a superior place to live/be born and raised in.
A word of advice to newbies. An interested girl will make the effort to reciprocate. You can't fix running bad game if you've already been failing with her.
I think Russia is generally misunderstood, the Western media doesn't really help this, and ignites this image of Russia being this dystopian hell hole that is going backwards. Russia is getting there, but still has a long way to go. Even though the is the Eastern Ukrainian crisis is still on going, wealth is being generated in the Russian mainland, Russians have more disposable income, better educated, and are starting to gather a international presence at a fast rate. Even in the last year, Moscow seems to have improved. The streets are cleaner, there are newer buildings and shops, along with less unsavoury characters walking around. I can't say the same for most of the cities in the U.K I have lived or traveled through.
Russia's 'traditionalism' or lets say image of keeping things traditional, is pretty necessary. As the country isn't fully developed and doesn't yet have the luxury of having a large welfare state, or embracing identity politics. The West views Russia as being European, especially the anti intellectual left wing commentators, who see Russia as being a stubborn bastion of European patriarchy. This is probably the reason why a lot of people with right wing affiliations take a liking to Russia.
Russia is always a place stuck in the middle between East and West and will never be fully integrated into Western Europe. The foundations are rooted in Orthodoxy Christianity and this will mean even if Western styled cultural liberalism was to be cemented in Russia, it will probably take a different form and be less potent than what you see in Protestant countries like the U.K.

He is held in high regard because the West is starved for strong, masculine leadership with support for conservative values. He is also mysterious rendering it difficult to decipher his intentions.
Just because they have a few things the West is lacking, they have by no means a superior culture. I've lost the link, but they have one of the highest time preferences in the world (low time preferences being a key gauge of quality of culture). High time preferences is the primary source of crime, prostitution, drug use, unreasonable risk-taking and generally untrustworthy behaviour.
I also remember reading an article about how they will drink cheap cologne if they can't afford drinking alcohol. If they'd titled that article 'Russias superior culture' it would have been my laugh of the week.

Ya, I don't get it either. I've never been to Russia, admittedly, but I've met a lot of Russians in China and they're always completely crazy.
The nicest ones are the functional alcoholics. The scary ones are the sober ones who are complete amoral.
"I can count on one hand, literally, the number of women I have ever met that can take that kind of advice, accept it and make use of it without their epic egos setting metaphorical fire to the conversation.
Most women "looking for advice" are in reality looking for someone to validate their cosmic victimhood, because it's not really their fault, because it's never their fault. This behavioural trait isn't absent among men, but when we fail society cares not, while when women fail there is no shortage of comforting platitudes on offer from every vector."

Agreed. If you really think about it, Hugo Chavez from Venezuela was very similar to Putin in a lot of ways. He always talked about "freeing his beloved Venezuela from American influence." As a matter of fact, he has been the only head of state who has publicly on the air blasted the U.S. presidents Bush and Obama.
The women in Venezuela are very hot, but obviously Hugo Chavez wasn't white, so anything he does or says will be seen as "backwards." Where is the love for Hugo Chavez on this forum?
How was Hugo Chavez any different than Putin? They are both from very corrupt countries and both from pretty much third world countries. I don't see the fascination for Putin at all. There are many dictators just like him all over Latin American and Africa.

Putin is an elected president (won the 2012 election in the first round, with 63.6% of the vote). Thailand suspends its democracy and adopts military rule. Putin is called a "dictator" by the US media propaganda machine. But nothing is said about Thailand. "Dictator" means impedes takeover of the world by the Western elites.

Venezuela deteriorated massively under Chavez, businessmen don't travel around the capital unless they have support from private military companies. Russia is by no means a picnic but it had improved immensely since Putin got into power. Whether this is luck, fortune, coincidence; his entrance into power saw the start of market transformations and ordinary Russians obtaining some disposable income.

Greed is everywhere hence corruption is everywhere.
I could easily fill a thread with the dirty corruption I have seen in Canada and I know goes on in the USA.
Some of us are kidding ourselves to think we live in a moral free corruption free society in the west.

Venezuelan people were eating mud pies before Chavazncame around. Nobody with a strait face unleas they come from a wealthy background in VZ will say that things got worse under Chevaz. The data points are all present and Chevaz was able to raise standards of living and gave Venezuelan people a lower umployment rate among young men then in America.

Then why are there supermarkets shelves empty. They have to wait in line for toilet paper.
I've talked to Venezuelans. All of them have been extremely upset with Chavez. I go to a Venezuelan restaurant sometime, the expatriots all hate Chavez with a passion for plunging the entire nation into poverty.

I think it might have something to do with the current elite who no longer needs Comrade Chavez to bash Bush. El Jefe made an ass out of himself the first time he met President Barry, so it didn't help matters. Now that he's dead and gone, Chavez is of no use to anyone and I don't see him leaving the same sort of legacy as did Juan Peron.
Tsar Putin is hated in the west because he has come out against teh gey and our new overlords won't stand for it. I checked Netflix recently and there were three anti-Russia gay documentaries playing. Putin comes off as a thug, too. Christ, there were SJW's marching down to Venezuela to help out in the Chavez "revolution", does anyone remember that?
