When I first became interested in self improvement I discovered the writings of Doc Love aka Tom Hodges. I read everything he wrote. I applied his teachings and got some dates. I even got lucky with some of the women I approached. HIs premise is simple. You see a girl who interests you and you simple go up to her and shoot the shit..you introduce yourself..talk to her, joke around, cut things short and end things with "can I have your number"..you shut up, dont talk ..and wait for her response. If the responnse is anything but her number you are out...NEXT.you repeat this process until you get a girl who gives you the number...after you get the number you wait 5-9 days to call her and when you call her you dont waste time chatting..you cut to the chase and go for the date...six o'clock on tuesday and I will pick you up etc...when you are on the date..you dress nice..you show manners and class..you dont look at other women..you keep things light and funny..no negatives, no put downs...after the date is over...you go for the kiss...if she lets you kiss her you are in like Flynn..so, you wait 5-9 days to call her again and do it all over again..the main point of his writings is CHALLENGE..being a guy she cant quite figure out...keep her off balance..so, what is my question? What do you guys think of Doc Love? Any insight would be appreciated!

This is a trip along memory lane. I came across 'Doc Love's' writing through askmen dotcom in about 2004. I was in varsity and it was my first time reading about game. I used to go through the dating articles on that site and literally print the most interesting ones. I recall that amongst the frequent dating writers, Doc Love was the straight shooter and some of his advice was stellar, especially from the point of view of a novice.
Some of his unorthodox advice was to always ask for a girl's home telephone number instead of the mobile; always go for what's now known as the kiss close on date 1; and call a girl instead of text or e-mail. Doc Love focused a lot on a girl's interest level and how it affects everything and this is one of the best things he taught. His writing on interest level is probably peerless anywhere even after more than a decade and it is certainly timeless and I recommend it.
For someone who read a lot of what's on that site, today I'd say some of the Doc Love advice of that era might seem antiquated and actually not recommended - for instance he said take a girl to at least 9 dates (a form of screening prospects); and the kissing part could amount to unwelcome PDA depending on where it can take place.
All in all although the writing is now behind the times because of today's reality, it was intended strictly for traditional dating and definitely not 'hooking up' and fast sex in any manner. All said, there are definitely some valuable nuggets, although the model is for conventional dating.

OP, your 2nd post is about a PUA that proposed "traditional" dating. You are on the suspect list.

Why should someone here read about an antiquated PUA who says "take girls on 9 dates?" And then do you propose to her or bang her?

And waiting 5 - 9 days is absolutely NOT recommended.

This is a forum primarily dedicated to getting the most bang(s) for your buck. Traditional dating is not what the primary forum membership is going for. And it's also not a traditional world you live in.

OP, are you trying to find a wife? How many approaches do you do these days?

Why should we learn these techniques when there are better ones in the market place to accomplish the same result with less effort?
