RE: How Would You Start A New Life? Leave Your Old Life Behind.
While I wasn't drunk at the time of posting last night. This morning, I realize that probably what has me a little out of my element is that I don't feel burdened. The last month has been crazy as far as moving, getting rid of stuff, making arrangements etc. But as weird as it sounds, when I needed a door opened, a door was opened to address some issue that I was facing. It feels like all the traffic lights are turning green as I need them to. What I am planning to do feels so right.
But I haven't had this feeling in a while and it is like a friend you haven't seen in ages and you are driving across the country together. I think it will just take a little while to get comfortable with not having to worry so much, without having to battle so much, without having to eat shit because business is business. And I don't want to be in a hurry to fill this void with that type of energy again. Let me rephrase. I don't want that energy at all. I want to fill it with joy, peace, pussy and eventually a wife and kids.

RE: How Would You Start A New Life? Leave Your Old Life Behind.
Very interesting topic.
I have also been thinking about this alternative paths and FFL was probably the most suitable for me. I am 24 and for the first time I became some kind of part of the army when I was 15 and went to high military school.
I decided to give my life a chance:
A. Find good women and start a family with her. Learn some skills and earn money in civil later. Raise your children and let this thing make you happy.
B. Go alternative path and try to find a happiness or die. I mean, I think that the best way how to find life happiness is to see the worst thing that can ever happen.
As some of the guys from this thread know via PM, I recently failed A, again, but this time it is much bigger pain than ever before. And I am in these thoughts again. Maybe I need to see the worst to value the little I have. Or maybe, my purpose is just different, than living ordinary life. Currently, I am not thinkig about FFL. There´s a lot of bad things happening in the world and many volunteers probably with similar life-experiences are heading to fight for innocent people.
The main issue is, that I wouldn´t be probably able to come back to normal life. I could be jailed in my country and also in other countries. There also would be 10k $ debt on me. And I love my country and the region I come from. I don´t want to leave it forever.
Has someone experiences with volunteering?

RE: How Would You Start A New Life? Leave Your Old Life Behind.
Interesting theory about joining it now.
Considering the direction the EU and France are heading you could be in for quite a hairy ride.
At this stage of world affairs (and assuming I was unattached to anything important in this world) I would only join the FFL if I was willing to be involved in something approaching an anti-muslim civil war. In this regard there are three things to keep in mind. One, the FFL are considered the most expendable force. For that last 20 or 30 years that's been less of a big deal since most wars they've been involved in have been wars of convenience in a sense. Not full scale fuckfests. Two, the FFL will get the dirtiest jobs in the wars ahead. That means when they say "clear the muslim invaders out of this ghetto" by "clear" they're going to mean "kill" and by "muslim indaders" they won't be inferring "muslim military aged males", they will be inferring "everyone in muslim garb, including women and children". They might even be inferring "all Arabs and Africans". Three, from day one you will almost certainly be under some form of strict information blackout for reasons not the least of which is that the FFL is not exactly a friends to islamists and targeted attacks against them while on leave (or against the families of FFL soldiers) will be an everpresent threat.
The FFL had a truly horrifying reputation for good reason, but in truth the last 30 years have been by comparison to their overall history, incredibly pleasant (I stand to be corrected on that, my research is far from thorough).
There are obvious indications, however, that those relatively easy times are drawing quickly to an end.
Certainly it will be no job for a man with a family or likely even the man who ever intends to start one, given the extreme emotional trauma veterans of that service are likely to suffer over their time there in the decades ahead.

RE: How Would You Start A New Life? Leave Your Old Life Behind.
I would heed Leonard's words, Tomzest man.
But I think I have a faint idea of what you are going through atm; Numb the pain, share it with targets and go down in a blaze of glory because that'll compensate the loss. IF i'm even close to remotely right, be careful, bro.
It's a slippery slope that can get you in a very wrong spot of which you won't easily escape.
War is war,no matter what side you join. Death, pain and some of the worst aspects of mankind revealed shall be your bread and water (and if not ,it should!)
On that note,FFL are France's expendable elite, meaning that in the years since their failed coup they have still been sent to do the dirtiest of the dirtiest black op/wet jobs.
I would agree with Leonard that coming back from the Legios is more than likely to leave one unfit to start a family.
On militias:
Is the Ukraine conflict still going on? I would imagine both sides are still taking volunteers then?
EDIT:
Edited it to tone down a peculiar aspect
