There are plenty of 9-5 developer jobs out there based in the USA. Now if you're talking about looking for developer jobs on odesk, that's another story.

WIA I think you are right that it's a convoluted path to learn to code to generate a w2 income to buy more property, there is probably a simpler way compatible with my existing skills.
