- end of Sept/start of Oct and it's still 30 degrees plus (in the cities) and high 20s Celsius on the coast, bliss
- cheap (compared to Ire & UK) and great food and local beers and wine are all very acceptable
- plenty of cultural stuff to do if that's your bag, the old part of the aforementioned cities are all well worth visiting, 'La Carboneria' in Sevilla is a must if you have even a passing interest in music and dance
- beautiful uncrowded beaches along the Costa de la Luz, Tarifa is also fantastic for kitesurfing and windsurfing and has a younger crowd than the somewhat coupley/family oriented Conil de la Frontera
- not many critters to bother you, worst that happened me was a badass cricket that tried to hijack my alfresco drink one night!
- was not that impressed with the women in general, in any of the places I was in, perhaps this was due to it being at the end of the highs season; one thing I noticed (particularly in Conil de la Frontera) was the amount of mediocre women who were with good looking guys, this applied to both tourist couples (mostly German and Dutch, some British) and also to many of the Spanish couples I saw, in many cases the guy was a full 3 points higher on the scale - maybe I'm just more observant these days, but it was quite an eye opener....
amity -
Can you break down the beaches "Conil de la Frontera, Zahara de los Atunes, Cadiz and Tarifa" a little more?
Best bars?
Best clubs?
Best hotels?
Day Game moves?
Best beaches?
Fraid I don't have much more info to provide, we were in several tapas bars in Sevilla and Cordoba, no clubs as such, and we just stayed in standard basic hotels during our trip, but in terms of bars, the one place that stood out was in Sevilla - opposite the Giralda(Catedral), it was called 'EME'
Very stylish fashion hotel with restaurant and a rooftop bar looking out onto the Giralda, not cheap though, paid 25 euro for two mojitos!
Plenty of very attractive young women in our midst (admittedly some of them were bar/hotel staff) but the overall vibe was friendly and cool and I'd recommend anyone to check it out if you're in the city

I was only in granada 2 days, what i could tell from that was its cheaper than everywhere else i was in spain only being beaten by alicante. And there seemed to be a pretty big arab influence there, if you go to the oasis backpackers hostel, the streets around there are like something from Aladdin.
I didnt bang a fucking thing on my spain trip only getting a handjob of an ugly american chick and that was in portugal so doesnt really count. Saying that my spanish was retarded and so was I at the time. To go to a place like peru and fuck pretty hot chicks with little hassle, the memory of spain has become a shitty one. When things can be set up so highly in your favour in other spanish speaking countries, other than a fear of having no social circle, (which there should be no fear of at all) its hard to think why anyone would bother with spain.
Agree with Rick.
Why the hell bother with Spain when you have Colombia, Peru, The DR...... where you can learn spanish and bang young cute girls regularly. In Spain, you might end up like a lot of the local men,who end up banging foreign prostitutes out of desperation.

I know there are many cheaper places to learn Spanish with easier poon. Do they offer the same quality of life apart from the chicks? Highly doubt it. Anyway the main goal is to learn Spanish which will be a lot easier when having a social group of all locals who don't speak much English. Yeah I wont be banging a young hottie every night but there is plenty of time for that down the road in Latin America. Especially if I do manage to get a real handle on the language.

If quality of life and comfort is what you are looking then Spain is perfect for those 4 months of study. Spain is one of my favourite countries in that regards too. Though once you see the desperation and horniness of the dudes there, it is hard to go back. The friends I made, when I lived there, couldnt get enough of my stories of how easy new york city girls are. If it wasnt for the many latin american chicks who live in Spain, those poor guys would be miserable.

They are a really social bunch and always having fun, especially down the south. Anyway Granada is really cheap, I may already be able to have a room in a really nice apartment for 180 Eur a month. Then you can live really easy off around 100 Eur a week I have been told. If you factor in the flight cost this would be cheaper than going to Colombia or somewhere in LA.
Lastly there is hardly any data on Granada here but I know its a huge student town and people from all over Spain move there to study. Something like 80000 of 270000 are students and that's why its so cheap. You never know, could be a gem if you set yourself up properly.
I did like Granada a lot. And if you are young, tall, have light skin and eyes.... and a brit who can speak decent spanish, I can see you doing very well with the spanish or european university girls over there. If you would have told me Madrid or Barcelona, for a young guy like yourself, I would have definitely said stay away.

I think Madrid is great, I used to live there and found it was better than London in almost every conceivable way. Then again, I was there for a while and integrated into lots of social circles and can speak Spanish so I can see how it would be really cliquey and uninviting to someone passing through. Then again, apparently Spanish men don't get a lot of tail - but is that because the women are simply cold or the guys are mainly betas? I think the latter is true.
Both are true to different degrees, but it is mainly due to the women. If it werent so, then youd have many forum members talking about killing it with the local women in Madrid, Ibiza, Valencia, Barcelona, etc. Still havent heard any foreigner who consistently does very well there (though I am sure there are exceptions)......in that sense it is similar to Argentina. I have lived in Madrid and have my spanish flag, but I would never recommend living there for the poon.
