It was mainly the insane property taxes. People just left their stuff, could not sell it and could not pay the tax on it anymore.

I think it's a more complicated problem than women "choosing" not to have kids.
That's just what you see on the surface. Underneath it's a perfect storm of
modern dating problems, changing expectations about marriage, the decline of the traditional family
the list goes on and on.

In a couple of decades, the pendulum will swing back again in the other direction.

If it swings back it all, it will only happen because of men like us swinging that big rod in the other direction.
