Once you reach a certain age in China, the same 'outsider' status applies to foreign men as well. If you're an attractive foreign man 35 years old living in Hangzhou, most won't respect you, especially if you take the bus like this woman.

Remember, Chaoyang isn't representative of China, and just because the girls at Sanlitun will spread their legs for you doesn't mean you have any value in the Chinese community. Most Chinese aren't very open minded and assume that any foreigner of value is on an expat package and will GTFO eventually, even if it isn't true.

I'm in China to build a life and that means finding people who I can relate with so that I can form a community.

So, it's not so much about the girls at Sanlitun spreading their legs for me, so much as being able to meet people I can have a meaningful conversation with....male and female.

Chaoyang tends to attract ambitious people, foreign and domestic, male and female, so this is the place where one has a good opportunity to meet the right people.

Also, within the "foreign influenced" community that has been formed in Beijing, your value is judged by a more international metric. Illogical Chinese culture does not reign supreme.

Funny because more than one Chinese girl has told me 'Whenever the Chinese see a Western girl with a Chinese boy they think "Wa! so lovely!", but whenever they see a Chinese girl with a Western boy they think "Oh, she is slut!"'

The Western woman-Chinese man pairing is far less common than the opposite, but you do see it. My take? Us foreign boys love to come here and stretch out the thin, long-haired high-heel wearing local cuties, but the average Foreign woman in China is at best a 5 (the Russian models that work the clubs in Beijing and Shanghai are the obvious exceptions). I've said before and will say again; Attractive Western chicks are generally scarce in China because Attractive women have options in every area back home (You ever met an 8 in Canada-USA-UK without a job or a car?).

I know two girls; one was a decent 7 when she came here but has bloated and dropped her skincare regime to the point she's now a 5, one has an 8 body and a 3 face - both don't struggle with the local men.

But what's only been touched on is that a woman shortage (it's at what, 111:100 now?) + extreme hypergamy = the average guy really has to take what he can get. Many frumpy, fat, acne-faced Chinese girls have boyfriends that could be deemed handsome (I'd say that the average girl in a Laowai-Chinese girl couple hovers at around a 6.5-7 - a Chinese 7 is an American 8).

I'd consider Hangzhou a major city - one of the highest standards of living in the country, metro population close to ten million, former Dynasty area capitol, central location - but in a country with as many monstrous megacities in China, it's not a top dog (Tier 1: Beijing, Shanghai and Guangzhou, Tier 2: Tianjin, Chongqing, Chengdu, Shenzhen and Nanjing). Hangzhou is nicely on the third tier with other cities like Dalian, Xi'an, Wuhan, Suzhou and Qingdao. It's probably the top third-tier city in China, it's American Analogue is probably a place like Seattle or Philadelphia.

I took many girls to the West Lake. It's got cool temples and good restaurants but it's a piss-and-mosquito filled pit compared to just about any lake in Muskoka.

I wonder if the gender ratio is truly as destructive as one may assume. The poor Omega/Beta men surely get shafted in China. The gender ratio in most Western cities is much much worse - if you discount for the obese monsters or single mothers then even more.

As a man anyone who doesn't consider this is an idiot. Do you upgrade your hardware regularly? As a computer enthusiast whenever I'm building a system I always have in mind that one day I will have to upgrade my PC and throw away some old parts. Same goes for phones, TV and stuff. Why would girls be any different?

Western women are exponentially depreciative asset, and if one doesnt account for beauty inflation when dealing with them you will get into huge shit after.

Yep! His wife is known for her blogging and his face is everyfuckingwhere with her face too. They blogged about East meets West, match made in heaven yadda yadda, etc.

Dalaran, as an Asian, you already know this dude cannot just easily abandon her now. He will lose even more face.

What he is probably grappling with or trying to come to terms with is, does he just go to the bathouse/xiaojie, etc? Get an ernai on the side? (If he can afford it) or bite the bullet and get a very young xiaosan and go through a potential fight and divorce and all the heartbreaking drama involved in doing that.

He might be better off doing it the American way instead. Just do a plain ol divorce with no xiaosans or cheating, tell the court she got fat/cannot get along well etc., then get a new girl after everything is done or Ohio girl goes back home or whatever. Even poor man in China pull Xiao san and er nai. They date down money-wise, but there are laborers who have second wives and mistresses. They won't be high quality, hot girls, and they may not even be younger than the main wife. They'll just be poor enough that whatever he can pull out of his pocket is enough to meet ends meet, plus (and this may seem strange), an otherwise sheng nu would have a place in the world then, rather than being just leftover.

My guess is that she births him two or three large mixed blood babies, which stokes him up among his cohort with even more face, and he stays put. He may pick up a second girl, though strangely, this one probably bangs the hell out of him. Something about the look...terrifying as it seems, she probably does practically squish the poor guy to death, and he probably likes it a bunch.

One thing I'd appreciate, you have to say, other than her ridiculous look-at-me attitude, this is a red pill woman. She married up (or least kept a man while she got butt uglier (IMO she was no princess to start), found a guy who likely does so more than whatever genetic mishap she would have caught in Ohio, and did so by escaping the patterns of her equally ugly sisters. I personally have no problem with her choice, though her advertising seems to be a bit of self-convincing/denial/eggshell ego. I'd also run across this blog whilst living in Shenzhen. It seems to get a lot of followers, and is hard to miss (although its pretty damn boring). If I recall, the main poster is an Austrian girl in Yunnan with a Chinese husband from Jilin, and she's probably a six or seven if memory serves. Also speaks Mandarin, and just a reminder, it takes all kinds.
