Well clearly they're both pretty similar then so rain shouldn't be the deciding factor. The weather in Thailand and Philippines can be very unpredictable.

No idea about Manila, but Bangkok is no stranger to huge floods. In the past 2.5 years or so I was there I never had any problems though. Also depends on where in the city you are. Some places flood easily.

I believe that the weather is similar. The difference is in infrastructure - Manila is a third world city (excluding Makati) for the most part, which means there is very little drainage. When I arrived in Manila in September last year practically the whole city was flooded.

PM me for accommodation options in Bangkok.

When it rains in Bangkok it does so for about 30 minutes or so. It's a total downpour and sometimes it will flood. A mini flood just above your ankles. This depends where you live - does not happen in all areas but some streets were not built for that much water so it takes about an hour or so to drain out.

When it rains I don't go out because the night will suck. Girls won't want to go out because their hair and makeup will get messed up and Taxis don't want to pick you up. Thankfully, it usually rains around midday-3pm.

When that does happen I just stay inside or wear flipflops.

Hey Guys,

I am just planning a trip with 3-4 buddies to Manila in beginning of september.
How bad is it? We gonna stay in the fort and wanna party all night and daygame all day in the malls ... and lay in between Tongue

Is the rainy season a show stopper for that?
We only can make it together in september because of full-time-job-vacation-timing-issues.

thanks for advice
