I was told about this site form a co-worker. I'm amazed it exists and wonder how long it will be until it's shut down.

Ever wish you could have all the books you see in the Computers section of Barnes and Noble? Or on Amazon.com?

Now you can. Just about everything you can dream of is on this site and you can download the "e-book" version for free without registering or subscribing, etc.

Some of the books are over 10 years old, but most are current or a couple years old.

Maybe I'm making too big a deal of it and it's all legal, but I can't understand why someone would ever pay for an IT book anymore.

That could be a good resource. I have a Safari Books Online subscription through my employer. They keep saying it's going to end, then extending it another year. If it finally falls off this year, it's nice knowing there's an alternative. Safari is $400 a year or so for a single user.

I've been learning rails and found some books that might be useful on this site. Normally, I torrent most of my reading material.
