Raising Your Children Creating Status and a Rant
As someone involved in youth sports for some time now I'm starting to notice a definite trend. Parents of obese girls sign them up for cheerleading to help create status.
Now I may be older now at 36 but I know that status (popularity) of cheerleaders in school has nothing to do with the actual cheerleading. That popularity comes from being attractive, fit and parading around in little outfits.

I just wish that these parents would realize they can not create popularity just by signing them up for cheerleading. Not only do these kids make terrible cheerleaders because of the lack of physical activity/mobility they also receive ridicule.

We can try to create an ideal world for our children or realize that they must adapt to the world around them.

I guess guys, this has struck a nerve recently because my brother is doing this very thing.

RE: Raising Your Children Creating Status and a Rant
I think most parents use their kids to gain status for themselves rather than worrying about what actually happens to their kids.

I.e. my kid is at "x" school and is part of "y" activity. Its like people get to a point in life where is much harder for them to keep accomplishing things so they have to live through the kids accomplishments.

Meanwhile the kid maybe be having a really bad time while still believing if my parents say so then i must endure because its for my own good.

You're so on point man. So many soccer moms in my hometown (small, 1000+ pop.) live through their kids, and it gets really fucking old. You can't hold a conversation with any of them without them yakking off about their Jimmy or Emma or whoever. Because..... what the fuck else is going on in their life? You'd be surprised how rare it is to find a mom or dad with their own life. It's very sad to me, but they always seem into it, so whatever.

I was tempted to post a thread on this very topic. Do mothers REALLY give a shit about their kids? I have lots of evidence that says hell no. They want what is best for them through their kids. If little Johnny drowns in the pool because mommy would rather be posting on facebook... You get the point. Women don't give a fuck about their kids if they have to sacrifice anything. If kids were not born cute, they would all be dead.

I'm sorry about the mothers you've known and your own, but yea, a lot of them actually do. Also, a lot of women sacrifice a ton for their children. I know my mom did extraordinary things for me and my siblings. It's why I don't relate well to American women I think. I'm not damaged. I have a much higher value to normal, non-westernized girls, and thats who I strongly prefer.

Rpg, focus on what will get you ahead, slay some foreign pussy, and in general, try not to let the West bring you down.

A lot of shitty women out there, but yea, normal women all over the world do care a lot about their kids in non-superficial ways.

So these youth sports programs accept everyone who signs up?

If kids are out of shape hopefully being in some atheletics program could help them get into better shape and turb their lives around.

For the majority I am sure that does not happen but hopefully for some they can find that in atheletics prograns that accept them regardless of physical ability.

Of coure later you get tryouts

In most cases, it only delays the inevitable. Kids who are born into families with unhealthy ideals will have that same future once school's over. So many kids will get involved in school sports but continue certain unhealthy trends, like for example eating shitty processed foods. Once high school is over and school sports are in the past (and for most this is when their metabolism gets low), these people continue their overall bad lifestyle and let themselves go.

Of course, you're right in saying that some people will take sports seriously, take on a healthy lifestyle regardless of their upbringing, etc. It's just uncommon.

Exactly.

Instead of encouraging healthy eating and getting the girl in shape, these women think if they just dress their kid up, then it's the same thing. It's like trying to find a loophole instead of doing the hard work.

It's yet another example of women mistaking what they find attractive for what men find attractive. Men don't care about status nearly as much as women, if at all. Sure, a schlub can obtain a fancy car and all of a sudden women may be interested, but the reverse just doesn't work the same.

Women can complain that this isn't fair. But we (men) didn't decide for them that status was so important.
