Getting some Latin Translated
Hey Gents,

I need to get some Latin translated quickly. My diploma is in Latin (fucking catholic universities) and my recruiter for a job wanted images of it. Her problem is that it's in Latin and her superiors want it translated so they're making me do it. I would go to my local university, but I doubt the Latin department will be active on a Saturday afternoon. I cannot go there today because of work.

My issue is that my recruiter is across the globe and needs it by 12am her time (12pm my time) on Monday.

It's a tiny bit of Latin, but I have very weak Latin skills. Anyone know any sites or anything that can do this for me? If anyone on this forum can read and translate latin accurately please message me. I'd be willing to pay something reasonable if I must make it worth your while.

I can probably do a shitty translation using google and she probably won't be able to confirm or dispute my letter, but I'd rather do it the right way the first time and be done with it.

Thanks guys,

Fortis

If you can post it, we might be able to let you know if we can have a stab at it.

I have an A* in GCSE Latin, and haven't done it in years, but I was pretty competent at it and if it is within the limits of my remaining ability I'm happy to do it as an intellectual exercise.

No problem mate - can't guarantee I'll be able to do it, but happy to check it out and see if I can.

My latin is very, very tired too.

If H1 can't help PM me (my sister is a classics grad so I can ask her).

Even better, PM QC.

Indeed. He uses a fair bit of Latin in his writing.

I'm not sure if they have Latin, but translations here do get done fast and with reasonable quality assurance. One Hour Translation

RE: Getting some Latin Translated
Why do these people want your university's motto translated? I've never heard of any employer asking this. Why would it matter to them? They sound odd- I would reconsider applying there.

Or maybe it's supposed to be some stupid "test" for you; in that case I guarantee they will be extremely annoying types to work for.

It isn't just the motto. My entire diploma is in latin, so I think it is reasonable that they would want it translated.

Women these days think they can shop for a man like they shop for a purse or a pair of shoes. Sorry ladies. It doesn't work that way.

Women are like sandwiches. All men love sandwiches. That's a given. But sandwiches are only good when they're fresh. Nobody wants a day old sandwich. The bread is all soggy and the meat is spoiled.
