Hey i'll give you my $0.02 since you took the time to write all of this.

First and foremost bro, I commend you for mentioning the herpes, BUT it's not really a smart move. (Med background) You do realize that there is suppressive therapy available to where you will experience zero flare ups a year. Why wear that scroguard contraption when you can suppress viral replication altogether. If that is not your preference, you can at least take a 500-1000mg valacyclovir when you first start to experience a prodrome(tingly weird feelings) and still be safe. I'm sure you're aware that after the initial flare up, the time between the following is progressively longer and symptoms less intense. Telling these girls is a downright instant turn off for most. People often (mistakenly) base disease severity on physical symptoms and not medical and that's what's happened in this case. You got lucky telling that 6, but I promise you most girls, ESPECIALLY higher quality ones will NOT be okay with that type of information being disclosed after only knowing you a short time.

Secondly you violated one of the cardinals rules: Always strike while the iron is hot. Disregarding the herpes for a second, if you just did those same actions of turning down staying the night and not escalating enough, most girls would would have moved on. I remember a post on here that: "girls will always forgive you for moving too fast but never for not moving fast enough." That with the addition of "your news" was too much for her to handle from a potential ONS/FB she just met.

My advice, keep it under wraps until you find a girl that's a potential LTR, practice safety measures and don't let it hold you back to where you feel you must disclosed everything up front. If you want more info/advice on it PM me.

^ To add to the above, when I went to my doctor and asked for STD testing (after finding my wife cheated on me for a year and half), I asked him to test for herpes and HPV.

He practically laughed at me and said that almost everyone has those in some form or another that they don't even bother testing for those anymore. They just treat the symptoms if they flare up, and even then those are very rare. The majority don't get a single flare up in their lifetimes. He only tested for the big ones like HIV, Hep B, and syphilis.

I had the exact thing happen when I was tested late last year. The Dr. said they don't screen for herpes unless someone has "active legions" and I was only tested for the big or treatable stuff like HIV, Chlamydia, Hep C etc. Even on the CDC website they don't recommend routine herpes screening.

I'm no Dr. so this is just my 2 cents, but I would just say take suppressive meds if you're really worried about it, always use a condom (ditch the whole scrotum guard) and game as usual.

As others have eluded to, this girl could very well have it as well and just not be aware of it.
