Well, it has finally happened. Two of RVF's greatest adversaries have finally butted heads. In one corner stands JK Trotter, a writer for Gawker. In the other stands Razib Khan, a genetics grad student at UC Davis, was hired by the NY Times as an editorial writer. Let's first see what Trotter had to say as he squares off with Khan:

Today the New York Times announced its selection of 20 new op-ed writers who will contribute to the paper on a monthly basis. Editorial page editor Andrew Rosenthal told Capital New York that his staff selected contributors with “a broad range of viewpoints and subjects and backgrounds and geographical locations and every kind of form of diversity that you can think of.” This commitment to a diversity of viewpoints is remarkably strong, as indicated by the paper’s inclusion of science writer Razib Khan.

According to his Times author page, Khan is “a science blogger, a programmer and a doctoral candidate in genomics and genetics at the University of California, Davis.” Omitted from the paper’s biography, as a quick Google search indicates, is Khan’s history with racist, far-right online publications.

Here, for example, are 68 posts Khan wrote for Taki’s Magazine. The site was founded in 2007 by Taki Theodoracopulos, the flamboyantly racist Greek journalist known for trumpeting his disgust for Puerto Ricans, contempt for Africans, and suspicion of Jews. Besides Khan, Taki publishes people like John Derbyshire (who wrote “The Talk: Black Edition,” an essay so racist National Review cut its ties with him) and Vice cofounder Gavin McInnes (who penned an essay titled “I’m Not a Racist, Sexist, or a Homophobe, You Nigger Slut Faggot”).

Khan wrote for Taki from January through September 2009. A decade earlier, in 2000, Khan wrote a letter to VDARE, a white nationalist website named after the first child born to English settlers in America*, in which he discussed another VDARE essay by Steve Sailer, the openly racist science writer, concerning the threat of the United States becoming “more genetically and culturally Mexican.” According to the Southern Poverty Law Center, VDARE was considered a “relatively mainstream anti-immigration page” after it was founded in 1999; within the next four years, however, it began “regularly publish[ing] articles by prominent white nationalists, race scientists and anti-Semites,” and continues to do so.

VDARE’s racist ideology did not prevent Khan from earnestly linking to an essay published there in 2009. The author of the VDARE piece argued that the “defense of the West against the onslaught of Islam and Third-World immigration” required acknowledging that the State of Israel was part of the West and, by extension, under the very same threat. Khan’s response, published on Taki’s Magazine, consisted of his suggestion that the “West” seemed to be only Christian, not Judeo-Christian, in nature.

Khan’s writing elsewhere hardly rejects the doctrines on which these outlets are based. He merely treats what white racists taken for granted—that non-whites, and especially blacks, are intellectually inferior—as an open question worth exploring in the name of scientific inquiry. Still, Khan is careful with his actual words; he never says black people are less intelligent. But his willingness to treat black intelligence as a matter of debate has not hampered his career in the slightest. He’s written for Slate, The Daily Telegraph, and The Guardian. Indeed, he’s already placed two op-eds, about the evolution of cats and abortion politics, in The New York Times.

Congratulations to Khan. Even more congratulations, of course, to the Times.

It’s difficult to find a picture of Trotter but it’s clear he’s white. The guy he got fired, Razib Khan is easy to find because Razib proudly puts himself out there. Trotter’s idea of diversity apparently doesn’t include a diversity of opinions so he makes the logical fallacy of guilt by association and smears Khan by exposing the owners of sites he’s written for and the backgrounds of writers whose work Razib has commented on. That’s all it takes in this day and age. You could tell David Duke he’s full of shit and the headline becomes, “Area Man Fraternizes With Rabid Anti-Semite.”

Razib.com clearly states

“Needless to say any opinions that I express on the internet do not reflect those of any institution with which I am affiliated, or any individual with whom I am associated.” It is needless to say Razib because it no longer means anything. Bad ideas are Ebola and you can’t go near them – not even in a Hazmat suit or rational arguments.

Good “work” Trotter. Nice “job.” The singular view of the Times has been maintained and “an open discussion about race” is back on track.

In addition, the most intelligent Eurasian men might also be the most “nerdish” as Mr. Sailer would say. This would make it rather more difficult for them to attract high status “blondes.” What I am saying is that there is a difference between the macho Mestizo and black men, who attain high status in most likely extroverted fields (say entertainment, sports, law, politics, and business) while highly intelligent Eurasians might be funneling into scientific fields, making their values, and their possible mates, a bit different. Melinda French Gates for instance, to use the classic example of a nerd-wife, is attractive, but not blonde.

And one last thing: I am sure no one who reads VDARE has watched any pornography of late, but if anyone would care to, they would find that the only class of women that rivals busty blondes in disproportionate numbers in American pornography is East Asian females. Unlike brunette European females, Asian females don`t look particularly impressive when blonded in my opinion, and the fact that few Asian females in these films bleach their hair like their European counterparts seems to confirm that most porn viewers share my impression. In other words, Asian females (whether it be for cultural or biological reasons) are in some cases competitive with blondes. (From personal experience in a region of the country where there are many Eurasians- due to the fact that the area is 95%+ white and the non-white marriage pool somewhat limited – I can attest that many Eurasian men prefer Asian females for the same reasons as some European men do).

Also, I am not sure the blonde preference is as dominant among people from Asia as it is among Europeans, and Asians have not been as culturally dominated by Europeans as Amerindians have. Though certain European features were traditionally praised by Asians (fair skin), others have not been emulated (large noses, reputed body odor due to diet, hirsute body, etc.). In addition, though Japanese may comment on the nice figures that European women have (i.e., Europeans tend to exhibit more sexual dimorphism), they will also comment that many American women are too large and, as they would say in the States, “big-boned.” In other words, even if blondeness is preferred by Eurasians, there are other attributes that work against them (their size in comparison to petite Asian women, the perception by many Asians that European women, and Europeans in general, age faster and don`t keep their appearance up after the bloom of youth, etc.).

As Mr. Sailer notes, most Asian men are marrying their own kind, while more Asian women are marrying out. If the same trend holds true in the offspring, one must look for what the women prefer…which as Mr. Sailer would say, are not blondes, but tall dark and handsome. Perhaps a Eurasian like the late Brandon Lee?

Sounds like we have a race troll on par with the IRT demons in Tuthomosis' nightmares. This guy goes deep in the wormhole on Black intelligence, female intelligence, white intelligence... His whole life is race trolling.

All I can say is: WOW! Gawker is the scum of the internet, and it's amazing how quickly they can fuck over someone career-wise. So it is for that reason that I must stand along our race trolling friend. At the end of the day, all he is doing is likely trying to have a conversation about race, albeit in a slightly misguided way. I wish him well in the future and may Gawker one day be destroyed.

Let's not shoehorn this into a hackneyed RVF in-joke just because he happens to be South Asian; Khan is no IRT.

He's a legit geneticist, writes a lot, and only occasionally mentions race and IQ; and even if he did discuss it with frequency, so what?

The mean differences in IQ between East Asians, whites, Amerindians, and blacks have been well-established, and in the West, invariant to environment.

Treating the above as thoughtcrime is tantamount to treating the consideration of cognitive dissimilarities between the sexes as thoughtcrime.

I read Khan and Sailer in the Unz Review, along with a lot of other non-mainstream perspectives from the left and the right.

Khan is always interesting. Sailer is good, even when I don't agree with him, when he doesn't let the bitterness show in his work.

I accept the science on human biodiversity; groups are different. My own experience is that it doesn't make much difference in your experience of people if you observe. Thomas Sowell's idea that culture makes a lot more difference than genes in human populations is more valid.
