I've written a science fiction type war story that I plan on releasing this year. Hopefully this dumb broad will get mad at me since I'm a white straight cis male and drive my sales.

Oh, and there's not a single gay person in the story. That'll help.

Seriously, if you're an aspiring writer, write books that offend the SJW's, maybe deliberately. It's easy to do and it's a goldmine because they'll spread your shit around for you.

I considered feeling bad for this woman. Like him or not, Gaiman is one of the most famous and respected writers in the world, while Bradford -- at 36 -- couldn't create an interesting title if she had her back to the wall in a tiger pit. Of course she'd like us to go without reading straight white male authors for a year. Of course she resents Gaiman and anyone with his level of success. She's dying to be read. It hurts her not to be read. And as much as this whining annoys me, I'm not entirely without sympathy for authors who just can't seem to break out...

Then I remember John Milton wrote Paradise Lost while stricken with gout, grieving the deaths of his wife and daughter, and blind.

I think we'll be just fine in a world where "K. Tempest Bradford" isn't a household name.

Woman have always favoured crap writing, and always will. The thoughts of this - spectacularly-ugly - woman changes nothing. The Buzzfeed types will say it's a fantastic idea, but they willingly-choose to read Buzzfeed.

In my experience, the women who conspicuously-pose with Penguin Classics do so as a form of affectation, and can never offer insight into the work.

I read 'American Gods' a few years ago after a national book chain voted it 'Best Novel' after a national survey, above the traditional classics, and I was wondering why I'd never heard of it.

It was pretentious, aimless garbage.

Wondering why it was so praised, I looked him up: comic Book author favoured by the Goth / Emo set with a spectacularly-ugly musician wife.

That being said, around the same time I read 'Zone One' by Colson Whitehead. The fact the cover was full of orgasmic blurbs by Salon, The Washington Post, New York Times, GQ, etc, should have warned me.

It was pretentious, aimless garbage.

The quality of the writing was so dismal - so insufferably in love with itself - that I looked up the author, wondering why it would be so praised.

Remember, Progressives can't actually recognise good from bad. Good is simply what supports Correct Thinking, and bad is what doesn't.

As such, this is why I find I'm engaging with modern arts and entertainment less and less as I age.

Yet another example of biological strategizing:

Presented as social justice, her proposal would increase her status.

When activists are the primary beneficiaries of the changes they advocate for, you know you should be suspicious. It is definitely not about promoting absolute principles and wherever-the-chips-may-fall, it's about forcing the chips in her hands. It is about using a shield of virtue to mask a power grab.

Her fairness isn't about getting a fair chance to write books and become popular. She is already allowed to write any drivel she wants, but nobody wants to buy what she is selling. "And that's not fair!"

And if you want identity politics to rule this debate, be my guest:

Using paper (invented by the Chinese Cai Lun) is cultural appropriation.
Using the printing press (also invented by the Chinese) is cultural appropriation.
Using a programmable computer (invented by the British Charles Babbage) is cultural appropriation.
Using Twitter (invented by 4 pasty white Americans) is cultural appropriation.

It's also another example of these people invading communities and ruining them. Fraternities, gaming, science fiction: they use the same methods everywhere. They force entry and then complain about the community. Well, start your own communities.

But they don't want their own communities, because those would be miserable shit holes of despair and self-loathing. They want to ruin the communities of normal, happy and functioning people that are having fun. They hate other people having fun, because it reminds them of their own inferiority.

SJWs are bitter losers that crash fun parties they weren't invited to, start arguing with everyone about politics and call the cops to close it down. Then, like the human locust they are, they leave for their next target of destruction.

They didn't want to party to begin with. They just didn't want other people to party while they are sitting home alone in front of the computer screen, circle-screaming in unison with the other, similar degenerates. Put these likeminded people together and they wouldn't be content, because they know they are all defect. They will only be content when all the other people are unhappy degenerates as well. That's why they invade.

I'm glad public opinion is skewed towards our side this time. But however, I can see in a few years this changing. Things which are ridiculous in the short term become policy after a few years. For example, gay marriage in Alabama.

There will soon be campaigns about "privileged books" and how they are damaging, and promoting diversity in written texts and literary canon. As if it's not been damaged enough already by policy makers, making us read majority women written texts such as Jane Eyre, Pride and the Prejudice, and To Kill a Mockingbird. If I did try to read in HS, I'd be bored to tears and wouldn't really "get" the books.

I'm glad I was one of those kids who "didn't read" when they were in high school. Apparently I didn't miss much.

The one book I did read was Fahrenheit 451. The irony is thick with this one.

It used to be that in order to have a platform one would have to have something interesting to say.
