Some employers will not get the memo that you don't respect their authority and plan to get out from under their thumb as quickly as possible. You work for them to fill holes in your schedule and maintain a respectable income, but meanwhile you build a private tutoring business (where you meet students in their homes or offices, but never on your own turf) either by finding clients through your network or by working for trustworthy agents who treat you as a partner, not an employee.

Once you have enough private work you tell the assholes who like to pay you once a month to go screw themselves.
