3 times men make comments that women immediately misinterpret:

1) "I like girls with curves."

She thinks:


"I can eat whatever I want!"

He means:


"I want to motorboat that bitch!"

2) "Stop nagging me."

She thinks: "OMG! He thinks I'm nagging him! I know what to do, I'll keep talking at him in a hectoring tone till he realises that I am not fucking nagging him!"



He means: "stop nagging me".

3) "I just need some time on my own."

She thinks:


"Oh no! I'm losing him! Is he cheating on me? Don't leave me you bastard! I hate you! Don't leeeaaavvveeee mmmeeee!!!!!"

He means:

I guarantee that Clickbait sites and outrage journalism will create an addiction to these five chemicals in any man: dopamine, norepinephrine, serotonin, prolactin and oxytocin. This is how men are being trained to think and respond emotionally - like women - and it's something I'm trying to make a stronger effort to be more-self aware of. What is a real, significant threat to a man? vs. what is some dumb white female typist mouthing off?

I waste a lot of time being annoyed by this shit. I am trying to be mindful of it but I wonder how long it will take me to learn to completely disregard it.
