I live in Miami is cheaper for me to go somewhere else and fly out from there, a few months ago I took a flight out of JFK to Bangkok for $1,089 Total.

Now I'm looking to go to Manila and the prices out of the eastcoast are all in the 1,700's and up including JFK, would it be cheaper to fly to LA and go out from there or what? any airlines that fly out to Manila from LA or SF for under $850 RT?

Bad timing. With current oil prices and Summer coming I really doubt you'd find anything below $1,000 for SFO-MNL or LAX-MNL. The earliest time I found LAX-MNL below $1000 is Sep. If you want to fly in June or July, better prepare for something like $1,200 unless you want to fly really crappy connections (like 6 hour layover in Seoul).

I guess i could always try to catch a flight to Hong Kong or Macau, I found some for 1,050 out of NYC, hang out in HK for a week or two then take a flight to Manila for like $60, makes the trip more adventurous as well and about $300 cheaper than flying directly into Manila.

Which sites are you seeing tickets for about 1k from NYC to MNL? From Toronto, the cheapest I can find online on say expedia is 1550 for a return. I'd be interested in knowing too what is the cheapest way to get to Asia so please share the sites you're using to get those cheaper airfares. I have to agree with ON that with the current oil prices and summer around the corner, it'd be difficult to find deals on air fare. For accommodations, i'm more than covered but airfare is where the challenge is finding some deals. Also, flying from HKK to MNL for 60 bucks? Again, which site/airline is that?

I checked this out too from Florida... If you can get to LAX its $942 to HK on Air China.. thats what I was thinking.. not sure if I'll go though.. thinking maybe Colombia although I don't know fucking Spanish

Ok, checked the statravel.com site however, 2 bummers:
1) they don't offer anymore tickets from Canada, it has to be from the US and I don't like flying through the US and do everything I can to avoid going through the US or flying with American carriers since their service or rather lack of there of is among the worst in the world.
2) their offers is only for those under 26 and/or who are full time students and I don't qualify for any of these. But thanks anyways.
