Baking Soda for deodorant?

After a month or so of use I noticed that the baking soda bleached the hair (went from black to a medium brown color). Now I know why people use it to whiten their teeth.

Anyone else notice this? You can only really tell if you look up close. Anyway to prevent this?

I'm so late to this thread but must say, I started using it and haven't looked back. It's awesome.

I typically put two fingers that are slightly damp into a bag of baking soda I keep in the bathroom, then spread around my armpits. Doesn't matter how much I sweat, I don't smell anything.

Anyone use Gold Bond powder?

Do any of you guys use vinegar to clean and with your laundry? I've pretty much replaced most household cleaners and bleach with it. I still keep a little bleach around in case, but vinegar and baking soda are about all you need, I think. And so freaking cheap.

I've tried both and to be honest, the deodorant stick is too "wet" for my liking and I feel like I have wet armpits after I put it on. I have had that problem with most stick deodorants. I don't have that problem with straight baking soda. My two cents.

Tell us more about using vinegar to wash clothes. Do you use it with whites, darks, both?

I also have been mixing baking soda with my toothpaste and my teeth have never been whiter. Baking soda has helped my game!

Yea man same thing happened to me. I have dark skin so the contrast is not to bad and not easily noticeable.

Do you have any cavities?
If yes have they reduced in size or gone away completely?

I read somewhere on the internet if you mix hydrogen peroxide and baking soda and make it as a paste, that it can get rid of cavities.

You can use a cup of distilled white vinegar in your laundry to disinfect your underwear, or anything else that needs disinfecting. It doesn't whiten things, but does disinfect well. It's great to use as a household cleaner as well. The smell of vinegar takes a little getting used to, but it's harmless, unlike bleach vapor.

I'd recommend taking a shower before bed and washing it off. I do that, never had any problems that way.

I'm a sweaty guy and have been using this for years. I always does a good job eliminating odor. It works really well at first but after using it for a month or two it looses its smoothness and begins to scratch my armpits. I'm definitely going to try apple cider vinegar and baking soda

The Corn Starch deals with the perspiration and dilutes the power of the baking soda so that it doesn't irritate the pits after a few uses. Baking Soda for the stink, and Corn Starch for the sweat. Winning combo.
