After getting high and very introspective tonight, I realized that a band I've been listening to recently, The Thermals, has some very red pill themes in their music. They are a modern punk rock band, with emphasis on the rock. In fact, their latest (and best imo) album was entirely written from the perspective of a mercenary/killer-for-hire. I'm not going to write a wall of text, I feel that the songs below speak for themselves. Feel free to suggest any bands you feel have a thoroughly red-pill perspective.

Maybe these songs can be so interpreted, but I am just about positive the two guys in this band would identify as male feminists, while the chick more than likely identifies as a radical feminist. These guys are vey much aligned with that kind of twee, self-effacing, indie rock pansy culture.

That said, being that they are professional rock musicians with a tangential relation to punk, many of their attitudes regarding authority, living/thinking independently, pursuing one's passions, aversion to material culture, etc. would certainly fall in line with red pill ideas.

In any case, a person's ability to create compelling music is often entirely independent of their intellectual views ... hell, I'd say that probably 99% of the shit I'm into is made by people with completely opposing beliefs to mine. And I guess the interpretation of a work of art is supposed to be collaborative, blah blah blah....right on if it serves to inspire you regardless of the artists' intentions.

That was a spot-on analysis, Jeans. They are from Portland, so it's more than likely that they are very liberal and possibly feminists. However, I lived in Ann Arbor for 5 years, and love cities like there, Austin and Portland, so I am used to coexisting and getting along with opposing views to mine. In places like that, it's good to remember the 38th Law of Power: Think As You Like But Behave Like Others. Many of the other Laws can relate to that situation as well. I have found cities like that to be some of the most interesting, with a lot of independent thinking and a solid base for entrepreneurship while living in the U.S., though. That's what I love about them. (They also happen to have the best craft beer and breweries.)

Similarly, for artists like The Thermals: While their beliefs may differ to mine, the core of their music and lyrics speaks to me, and happens to be excellent as well.

Edit: I now notice that this invalidates the thread's title, and some of what I was writing about the band's perspective. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

Lefty artists often make great music - Rage Against the Machine, Marilyn Manson, Bad Religion, Nirvana (?) etc.
