Exactly, I just came from the local 711, it started raining while I was on my way there, rained like crazy for 10 minutes, I waited it out and now I am back in my room. Dry! Also, when you see clouds in the sky in BKK then its going to rain within the next half an hour, there are no two ways about it. This certainty allows you to plan accordingly.

These days, euro tourists chiks are an uncommon site, at least in BKK. They come to Thailand for the sun and there is no sun during the rainy season. However, I do see a lot of Japanese and Korean girls.

Sam Sheridan wrote a great book about his experiences as a traveling martial arts practitioner. His first stop was at Fairtex Gym in Thailand. I can seriously recommend the book. It´s called "A fighter´s heart".

Samui is the best place to bang Euro girls although I never really saw any hot ones.

Why Bangkok & Chiangmai? Cuz it's better to play around with non-pros in my opinion. Although Chiangmai seems to be kind of boring for most foreigners.

I just found a Muay Thai, BJJ, MMA, Boxing gym right near the Thonglor station. Most MT camps that I've seen have a set price, aroud 10K baht a month, for about 6 hours of training a day. These guys are a bit different, if you look at their schedule and prices.

Their schedule is contradictory. In the "about BFC" page they say that there are three classes a week on Mon, Wed, Fri....but then if you look at the schedule page then it shows that there is a MT class every day.

On top of that, they claim to have an international boxing class but it isn't listed at all on their site.

I've emailed the school to get an answer about this. Since they are right near the Thonglor station it would be perfect for living/work/training. If it turns out that they have 5 MT classes a week and a weight room, what I will probably do is do the 1.5 hours of training daily + weights for the first month, to ease into the training and heat of the country. Then, once I'm back into training shape, I'll hit up a diff city.

This looks like a better idea than 6 hours a day of training. I would not have the juice to do anything after 6 hrs of Muay Thai. Hell, I think I will be really tired after just 2 hrs of training.

Any luck with the apartments in Thonglor? Another thing about Thonglor is that there aren't too many street vendors in the area unless you find an apartment that is really close to the BTS station. So, you might end up spending a lot of money on food.

That is a good point. Actually one of the reasons I left the place I was staying at Thong Lor after 3 weeks was that the place lacked any Thai food places. It had a bunch of high end restaurants with some classy wine/cigar bars where at night, rich Thai kids would come and chill. There were a couple of local thai eateries along the way from the BTS, but it was kind of a drag walking for 10 minutes each way. I would usually go take the BTS and stop at Asok were my fav eating place was located, a very thai place with a ton of great options.

I'm not going for an aprtment rental because I want to have flexibility and freedom to leave BKK if I choose to do so. I've decided to do my first month in BKK then see what I want to do.

That really sucks about the lack of small eateries, I love cheap and delicious Thai food. I dont want to have to travel far just to eat.

I'm going to do Patong Boxing gym after my BKK month, then decide what I wanna do for my third month.

I think I'm going to do a boutique hotel, third place bangkok for work, and BKK fight club for my gym. These are all apparently within walking distance of the BTS. Can anyone confirm that?

Camillian Hospital, which you can see on the gym's map, is a 25-30 minute walk from the BTS station and I am pretty fast walker. You can figure out accordingly.

If you want cheap eateries then stay close to the Chitlom and Siam stations. And there is a place called Rajah Mansion in Nana that gives out rooms on a monthly basis (http://www.rajah-mansion.com/). DONT, I REPEAT, DONT THINK ABOUT STAYING THERE, That place stank of filthy hookers, pussy jiuce and semen. Ugh..it was disgusting!
