I recently had a promising first date lose all of its momentum when the girl's car got booted in the parking lot. The girl drove about 30 minutes to meet me at a bar and didn't pay for parking. I walked. We stayed inside for about an hour with the plan to go back for drinks at my place. Instead, we came out to see that her car was booted. This instantly soured the mood.

She called the company, and we waited in her car with the heat on. The car next to hers was also booted. It took about 30 minutes for a truck to come and remove the boot. She had to pay around $100. Instead of coming in for drinks, she dropped me off and then went home.

Has anyone salvaged this situation, or is this just another instance of how the world is giant cockblock?

The world isn't a giant cockblock. Women just shouldn't be allowed to operate motorized vehicles.

Pull off a crazy DHV by removing it using some kind of power tool?

That just seems like bad luck. You could be more persistent, or just turn it into a funny in-joke later on. It isn't the worst thing in the world for the one night to go south.

Should have had her drive and park near your place and walked over to the bar together. Logistics 101. Makes it easier to get her to come up to yours anyway. When she arrives tell her you're still getting ready, buzz her up, make her sit in your living room/common area for a few minutes then go out. She'll be way more willing to come back up later because now she's comfortable with your place and knows it's not a pig sty. And in this case her car would have been out of the equation for the rest of the evening.

Don't think it can be salvaged, unless you would have wanted to spring the 100$ and telling her that you are actually a trust-fund kid with 100 mio. $ in assets just wanting to test her whether she is not a gold-digger. But since you would not want to ruin her mood, you gonna dip into your huge trust-fund to cover that paltry 100 bucks so you can still enjoy the night.

Quick lying might work - alternative is harder to pull off via excellent humor and Game keeping her so amused that she would forget the trouble with the car.

On the other hand, when the bubble of the date bursts, then sometimes you cannot really do much.

even if it went so shitty, you now are more memorable. Simply be friendly "Hey it was awesome getting to meet you last time. I'd really like to make up for the parking issue, drinks on me. I can pick you up at 8 this weekend. Friday or Saturday? "

Yeah, this is a definite case of 'an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.' I'm going to make sure that my logistical arrangements are air-tight from now on. Also, let this mistake serve as a reminder for all men that you should plan your dates out in as much detail as the Normandy invasion, not the invasion of Iraq.

I've been cockblocked by guys so many times....and by life, etc...all I can say is that there are two kinds of guys: those who see cockblocks as immovable objects or unbeatable circumstances, and those who just fucking forge ahead and crush the challenges of circumstance and male opposition.

Every time I got cockblocked by something, it was always because I let something external come between me and what I actually want. Without exception, I wish I could go back to every situation where a guy tried to cockblock me and just keep going with the chick. I was in an architecture class chatting with a girl who had nice legs, and I stopped talking to her when a bro in the row ahead of me turned around and called me out. I was in an ice cream parlor and a guy in a wheelchair rolled up and interrupted with "she has a boyfriend!" Fucking crabs in a bucket.

Your situation isn't even a cockblock! It's just reality. People drive cars. People park illegally sometimes. There are consequences for parking violations.

Welcome to life.

The worst case scenario is that she nexts you and you move on to another chick. You have nothing to lose by trying again.
