It happened to me today. I wasn't too happy as it's been an "approach opportunity" poor weekend.

I don't mean stalking as in a long term stalker for a girl you have oneitis for. I mean, following her before the approach.

I finally see a hot girl worthy of approach who, from an attraction standpoint, generated that primal need to approach. A solid 8 with a tight body. I'd been in the bookstore two days waiting for something like this and I fuck it up.

I don't know what it is about this bookstore...but all the hot women who come in here usually walk at a sprinter's pace straight to the rest room, use it, then leave. It's as if they're too hot to be interested in books. I never see any uggos in here strictly coming in for the rest room. Anyway...

My plan was to exit the bookstore just as she did and either hold the door open for her...or she would hold it open for me. Then, I would make some comment.

I follow her to the bathroom and then wait behind a book rack. When she walks out, she's walking toward me and I kind of duck behind the books. Pretty sure she saw me do this. My goal was to exit the store as the same time as her. As I'm following her out....slightly at her 7 o clock position. She glances at me and our eyes lock. I knew I was busted. So, I continue walking to the door. She veers hard left away from the door as I've no doubt she was creeped out by this point. I just go ahead and leave the store. Obviously, I'm not a dangerous person, but for all she knows I am.

I think I need to move to NY or some big city where I see multiple hotties like this every day in an approachable situation and not one every 48 hours or so in my area.

I know about the 3 second rule but it didn't really apply here as she immediately bolted for the bathroom as soon as she entered the bookstore.

Ever get busted following a girl pre approach and creep her out?

Any of you playas ever recover from something like that in terms of actually turning it into a positive approach?

I always approach at the moment of closest proximity, or not at all. I've never managed to redeem a situation like this. In my approaches I use the spontaneity of it to draw her in. There can't be any hint of premeditation in it.

But when she's kind of walking toward you en route to the exit, that sounds like what you're waiting for, no? Just fall into step beside her. When you say "She saw me duck behind the books" you know it's either over, or you make your move right then. Those are "inflection points" in possible interactions. The awkwardness from scoping her out is only going to be worse.

Alternatively, you could gamble and predict her next move - like in this case, you could actually leave the place because you know she's probably going to diving into the place just to hit the bathroom then leave. Then shadow her for like a few strides, then fall into stride beside her.

II think this boils down to a key Roosh-Giovonny lesson: always make your approach from the side or from the opposite direction walking toward her. Never from behind, not even in the setup stage. Only try and optimize to the extent that you guys on are on the "collision course" or you can fall into step from sideways.

Yeah dude what Cactus said. In these types of situations I either try to get her inside or just go outside and wait until she is leaving out, wave her to slow down and proceed as usual. I don't think I was ever busted, but I have followed chicks for wayyy too long before.

I'm surprised I havent been caught yet since I like to magically set up the serendipitous encounter. If it came to it I'd guess the best way to handle it is being sheepish about it and going direct.

"Yeah - you caught me. Your hot, I couldnt help it. Whats your name"
