RE: Mainland Chinese vs Taiwanese girls
OP are you able to have the success in daygame in your own country that you want in Taiwan?

In my experience language is the definite barrier in most cases. Optimize chances by hanging out where english speaking girls who live alone might be, universities, various clubs, meetups, etc.

But after I've dated a few of them I realize that they're some of the best girls in the world. Amazingly friendly, good personalities, great at sex.. the list goes on.. Cold approaching can work, but what most guys on this forum don't realize is that social circle game is king in East Asian countries, especially if you want the hottest girls.

Social circle game can yield super high quality girls especially in marriage arraignment, but it has a very high learning curve. Not for everyone and the odds of your average guy making this work is very low. I tip my hat to you for recognizing that though, you must have some good experience to know that. For China, you can sidestep social circle game and still find high quality women, at least for now....

Agreed. Social circle does yield the best results, but definitely has a very high learning curve. This should be pretty obvious to anybody who has ever visited Asia... Doesn't matter the city, the best way to access super hot girls is through their friends. Guys on this forum need to honestly ask themselves how many hot girls (I mean top tier girls, like models) they've ever banged from cold approach... Odds are that it's not many, if any.. the best looking, most attractive girls are always surrounded by large groups of friends. Often found at night clubs at tables. These tables are sometimes guarded by bouncers. Best way to penetrate these tables is to have friends. Some guys might disagree, but I'd say they have poor taste in Asian women (99% of white guys I've ever seen in Asia have ugly or average girls).

tldr: make friends with club promoter types and your life will be easier, especially in Asia (yes, Bangkok too).

Great insights, travolta. I'm sure we could walk together into any high-end joint in Bangkok or Saigon and know exactly where to find the super hot girls. We would probably try to get a table next to our targets and start chatting up their beta orbiters. Not much thought involved.

On the other hand, I just don't think this strategy would be as useful in Taiwan or the Mainland, where we need to be more flexible and more careful to not conflate status with overall desirability.

I stand by my comments in Blackstock's thread: Taipei is littered with 8's. And unlike SEA's cream of the crop, these girls will actually talk to you on a cold approach, provided you're not a Winston Wu-esque type slob. The same can be said for Mainland cities, though the girls will give you the time of day because, as Laner put it, they are "curious and brash".

My advice for the OP: if you're authoring a thread like this, you're doing it wrong. Put down the Winston Wu chronicles, and figure out a way to convey some hint of value through your approaches.

Any distinction you're looking for is ultimately futile, because high-value Westerners should be applying an abundance mentality to both Taiwan and Mainland.

Cold approach will always work better in Taiwan because they have a much more developed club culture. Clubs in China, particularly outside of the tourist areas, are places to dance, smoke, and find a hooker. Taiwanese clubs, have always been in my experiences places to go and hookup. I hooked up with a girl when I was there doing a summer study at Luxy like 8 years ago, and it's still the same thing today.

When I go to a club in a city like Changchun, Tianjin, or Changsha, I don't get girls grinding up on me like I do in Taipei. Girls in China obviously are interested, they just don't seem to get IT as much as Taiwanese girls do.

I think that the biggest single difference is the gringo love mentality in Taiwan, which is certainly on par with that in Indonesia or Thailand. If you have some value looks-wise or status-wise, you will be a high-value target for most of the women. The 8's and up will require some social-circle work but they will still have interest. They aren't interested in what they've already seen or had, which is the English teacher/language student.

RE: Mainland Chinese vs Taiwanese girls
There is no way in hell 'Taiwan women are a complete disaster', mainlander women are 'more easy-going', or that not doing social-circle or online will cut out 99.9% of the women.
And being part of Winston Wu's readership is appalling. That guy will blame everything except himself.

The extremes in opinion always amuse me. 'This country is easy I do three women before breakfast' and 'This country is impossible the women are deathly scared of penises' in the same thread talking about the same women. What are people supposed to make of this?

I found:
1) Taiwan is simply a better country. It's like 'creme de la China'.
2) My eyes-on-the-ground comparison between Shanghai and Taipei is "more beauty in Taipei". As in walking the street thinking "Oh look, a good looking one" versus "fuuccckk". I met a guy who had previously been to Japan, who told me "I saw the most beautiful woman I've ever seen in my whole in Taiwan". Perfectly plausible.
3) My estimate is that you'll have more competition in Taiwan. Both Taipei local men and the types of foreigners I saw and met there were stronger competition than I usually encounter elsewhere in Asia.
4) Consider Taiwan 'normal difficulty'.

The more time I spend on the forum, living in Bangkok, and meeting RVF members who are well traveled, the more I realize not all of us will have the same experiences. And really it comes down to looks, game and length of stay.

Guys who are good looking, have good game, and stick around a city for an extended period of time will have a much different experience than the guy who is average or below average in looks and game, and doesn't stick around long.

I know that sounds completely obvious, but on an anonymous forum we really don't know the guys dropping these sheets and making these statements the majority of the time. So when someone I do know personally, like Leighton, says a place is good, I put a lot of faith in that statement.

When a random guy comes around saying he struck out and the place is no good, I figure it is because he is lacking in some area. Either looks, game, length of stay, or knowledge of where to go in the city.

Another big thing is the cultural knowledge/appreciation. China's learning curve is almost all culture. Much more than the language barrier aspect. A guy who is severely lacking in knowledge of the local culture will strike out way more times than he technically should. Some countries' cultural barrier will make good looking guys with money do outright shitty. Like a couple Pakistani guys I knew of that, while fairly good looking with money, struck out in China because of their lack of cultural knowledge. Something that I think goes hand in hand with open-mindedness and having a lack of arrogance. Some guys carry so much arrogance with them, others around them can feel it. That was the vibe I got off those 2 guys.
