Gov. Cuomo Plans ‘Yes Means Yes’ Policy for Sexual Interactions at College Campuses by MIKE VILENSKY

The move, which needs to pass through the state Legislature to become law, would broaden a regulation passed on all State University of New York campuses last year, largely in response to student outcries over how schools handle campus sexual offenses.

It would apply at public and private institutions.

“I believe there are institutions that want to protect their relationships, and don’t want the publicity of attacks happening on their campus,” Mr. Cuomo said, at a news conference at Manhattan’s New York University. “This is not a private matter. This is a crime.”

Mr. Cuomo, a Democrat beginning his second term, encouraged advocates to pressure state lawmakers to pass his law. “My father, God rest his soul, said the squeaky wheel gets the grease. The system responds to the people who make noise and to the people who make their voices heard.”

The legislation would define affirmative consent as “a clear, unambiguous, and voluntary agreement between the participants to engage in specific sexual activity,” Mr. Cuomo’s office said.

Many sex-assault advocates have long pushed for such policies, nicknamed “yes means yes,” which require sexual participants to affirmatively agree to any sexual activity rather than just not say no.

The California state legislature last year passed a bill requiring all colleges and universities that receive state funds to adopt an affirmative consent policy, a first-of-its-kind mandate.

In New York, Republican state lawmakers have expressed skepticism about such a policy.

But on Saturday, Bill Nojay, a Republican Assemblyman and frequent critic of the governor, said he was open Mr. Cuomo’s initiative: “Creating a statewide, uniform standard for addressing these issues will be a good step forward,” he said in an email. “I will support the Governor’s proposed legislation if it protects the rights of both the accuser and the accused.”

A spokesman for the Senate GOP didn’t respond to requests for comment on the proposal.

Mr. Cuomo’s legislation would also offer amnesty for drug and alcohol violations to students reporting sexual assault, a sex-assault “bill of rights” which campuses would be required to distribute, and training for administrators on the issue, his office said.

Some campus sex-assault advocates said on Saturday Mr. Cuomo’s policy didn’t go far enough, and didn’t include enough student input.

“It’s phenomenal that Gov. Cuomo is taking action, but it’s not going to be significant enough unless students contribute to its development,” said Zoe Ridolfi-Starr, a student-activist at Columbia University.

Colleges have been scrutinized over their handling of sexual-assault allegations over the past year, largely as a result of student-activists. At Columbia University, student Emma Sulkowicz has drawn national attention after she began carrying a mattress around campus, vowing to do so until the student she says raped her is no longer on campus. Ms. Sulkowicz has said Columbia cleared the student she accused of rape in a disciplinary hearing.

Ms. Sulkowicz and Ms. Ridolfi-Starr were asked to appear with the governor on Saturday but declined to do so, Ms. Ridolfi-Starr said. “My ultimate goal is to work with them and to develop a piece of legislation we can speak out in favor of,” Ms. Ridolfi-Starr said. Ms. Sulkowicz didn’t respond to requests for comment.

A spokeswoman for the governor said the administration has consulted many advocates, including students, and would continue to work them once the legislation is introduced.

Attention whoring again... makes me think about a personal story that happened over 4 years ago.

I got into a mini-relationship with a girl who claimed she had been raped in the past. I know this is a sign that means "EJECT NOW!!!!" but I ignored it. I asked her what happened, and she told me that during a party, a man pushed her on the bed and kissed her without her consent, but there was no sex. Yes, rape. After 2 weeks, she was too weird, and I ultimately ended up dumping her.

Fast forward 6 months, I'm in a local lounge-style venue near my place. I'm playing pool with some friends, and I see this girl walking in with a few friends. I say hi to her, but she doesn't answer, looks at me, and starts crying. I ask her what's wrong. She is silent for about 3 seconds, points at me, and yell, as loud as she can, "this is the guy who raped me!!!!", so I'm standing in the bar, with everyone staring at me, and a crying girl yelling rape while pointing at me.

At this moment, 4 white knights come see me and start telling me that they don't like rapists and they want me to come outside with them. It's hard to try to reason with 4 white knights with a girl crying rape beside me. At the moment, 2 security bouncers came beside us, and asked the girl.

Bouncer: If he raped you, then why isn't he in jail?
Her: I am too scared to tell the police.
Bouncer: But you are not scared to tell everyone in the bar?
Her: Well.. I didn't think they had enough proofs.
Bouncer: So you expect violence rather than proper law procedures?
Her: It's what he deserved.
Bouncer: I've been working here for 15 years and it's not the first time I see that. Now you grab all your things, leave, and I don't want to see you in this bar, ever. If I see your face here again, I will call the police.

During that exchange, I pulled my phone where I still had the text messages from 6 months ago saying "I enjoyed it yesterday!! you do it so well" and showed that to the white knights, just to calm them down, and they believed me. They told me that it's not the first time she claims to have been raped. They then turn to her, and say that she made them look stupid because of her false claims.

The security escorted her out of the bar.

The next week, I decided to sue her for what she did. It ended up with a off-court bargain.

So yes. Girls who claim rape are attention-whores most of the time. Rape is an inexcusable crime, but false rape charges are also an inexcusable crime. "Yes means yes" is complete garbage.

I wonder how this stuff will effect colleges in the long run. Maybe not even all that far off, say five to ten years.

Already women are the majority of the campus. If you look at the stats they claim that it is usually around 60 percent of student or sometimes degree holders or sometimes graduates are women. I think they juke the stats in this area like they do in a lot of other areas. It's been awhile since I looked at it but when I did my own research I found that the 60%-ish number usually came from freshman enrollment.

Males drop out of college at higher rates than females and this extends well beyond the fuck ups in freshman year. So, I really wouldn't be all that surprised if the number is much higher at state universities and probably even higher in more liberal areas.

Also, we all know that women loath beta males but with the doubling down on this feminist anti-male shit on campuses then I wonder how long it will be before the campuses have trouble even attracting beta males and you end up with campuses full of gammas and omegas with a few alphas and betas?

As it is affirmative action, through a backdoor unofficial type of way, actually benefits men in the enrollment process and even still they can't get parity at most campuses.

So, how long until we see 75% official figures paraded about with a more realistic 85-90% actual figure of men in the classroom? What happens then?

Will women still want to go to those colleges? It's hard to have a party scene, full of only college students, if it's mostly women. I guess there will still be plenty of men to party with them at the bars but they wont be in the extracurriculars, clubs, or college associations or classes.

It's incredible that a few deranged people (the mattress girl and a few hundred fanatics in the entire region) have the power to actually result in a law being enacted. I blame the parasitic governor Cuomo far more than these trench monsters.

Less than 5% are reported, and obviously many of those that are reported do not end up in a guilty conviction, so how do they know 1 in 4 is a fact?

Was it from a survey, and they counted every single positive answer as actual fact, as opposed to someone just saying it happened to them?

Couldn't I go around asking people if they have ever been abducted by aliens, and then say "Fact: Aliens do exists. 1 in 100 Americans have been abducted by aliens."? Would it then be a fact?

An article in 2008 by Heather MacDonald tackling myths about sexual assault. If one in four collegiate females are raped in their academic career, that means college campuses are by far and away the most violent communities in the entire world.

Further, if the fanciful 1 in 4 "stat" goes with the "that less than 5% of rapes get reported," it is more like "0.05% of rapes get reported" or all those alleged raped women were never raped. . .

I can't recall or find the study from the Community Of The Wrongly Accused, but they found that the "1 in 4" figure is more like a "1 in 2300" figure.

It's another step in the 1984-Orwellian nightmare that is being erected. It will hit mainly the wide majority of Beta men, the less financially privileged as they won't have the legal power to fight back allegations or just go to a different college. The rape scam will do what feminism was designed to do among other things - pit women against men more effectively.

The YesMeansYes crap will keep on spreading until even women start complaining about it in great numbers - but that won't happen, so consider it done.

Here a little story of how an autistic student was expelled for mistaking a girl for a friend and kissing her on the forehead. The student is 6'5 and greets all his friends - male and female through a kiss on the forehead. Some sexual assault Orwellian commissar/denouncer made the allegation for her and she even claimed that it was no big thing only to find out later that the guy was expelled. He was reinstated by the university I guess due to some ruckus, but it's still crazy. And they also called the incident sexual assault.

Doesn't Cuomo have 3 young daughters? It's these men who are ruining this country. Who have betrayed their gender, their own brothers. Even worse. It's from a survey that counted, among other things, all admissions of a drunk/high sexual encounter as rape. And even that survey only resulted in 19% positive, so he's still embellishing by calling it 1 in 4.

It seems to be how Gay Marriage is getting victories. I think only one state is where the elites actually left it to the common man to make the decision. This would probably offend liberal hypocrites who like to believe it's because times are changing. Even the "Government should stay out of our bedrooms" is another sign of liberal hypocrisy: "We don't want the government in our bedrooms, but the government should educate us on sex". "Institutionalized Racism" follows the same course. Their strategy? Tell select groups that their problem is the institution, then tell select groups that the institution is their solution.

Heh - if you truly believe that a bunch of cat-ladies and butch-lesbians are pushing through this, then you are mistaken. It takes tremendous money, power and a long-term agenda to pull something like that off. It's not even about votes, because you won't get it mentioned in any national campaigns. It's just like no-fault divorce - hardly any woman asked for it and it was never mentioned by any politicians.

The campus rape culture is quoted, but they never mention laws like YesMeansYes, because they know that they are moronic.

One of the goals of feminism is to foster dissent & separate women from men - just why they financed the Ferguson protests to separate blacks from whites. Divide and conquer is an ancient instrument of the plutocracy.

Unless most men become aware of this and can really act, nothing will matter much - not joining an MRA who are most likely already infiltrated by feminists and not even giving 10 billion $ to a "Red-Pill" organization - they will take your 10 bio. $ and raise it by 50 bio. $.
