Is learning to let go the first step to succeed in life?
Hey guys,
I having been thinking for awhile now about game, friendships and life. And I have come to see a pattern. It seems that letting go is the most important thing you will learn. For instance, my uncle has been dating the same women for 20 years. They are not married but they have children. However, through out the years their relationship has become more and more toxic, and yet they still remain together, in a very unhealthy way as they both have cheated on each other(They are not American by the way.) Since my uncle is still obsessed with that woman.

At the same time, I see this with friendships. For instance, my older brother is excellent in academics, he goes to a top school. However, I see that his friends are not people who are equal to him academically but those who are inferior to him, so that he can become their leader and teach them to be better at maths. This made me think that most friendships might be asymmetrical and you must always have the upper hand. His top rivals are not his friends but his competition. My brother is never subservient to no one, but rather, he lets others be subservient to him. Even if other people get better grades he won't go and become their follower but rather he will figure it out himself. This is like Plato going to Epictetus and asking advice, that would never happen because they are part of different schools of thought. There can only be one master.

In terms of game, I think you must always have the upper hand. If a girl messes up and betrays your trust, you cut her loose. This is what my uncle and the beta don't understand they just become attached to a girl, and eventually they become subservient to that attachment. I see all this betas begging that girl to stick with them because they have become attached. They have lost self respect for themselves and given up control. Which leads me to ask this question:
Is the price of being an alpha male letting go of your attachments/feelings? Like not caring for particular women but rather just throwing a cast net and get different girls as opposed to the idealized concept of "one special girl"

Yes. In terms of game, the less you care about the outcome with one particular girl, the more you succeed overall. You play the numbers game and know that some you'll get into bed and others you won't.

Yes. Learning to let go is advocated by both Buddhists (Samsara) and Christians (impossibility of salvation by your own actions).

Why do the heathen rage and the people imagine a vain thing? Psalm 2:1 KJV

Yes. In my mind, letting go is a sign of strength not weakness
