The bar is called 'Bikinis Sports Bar & Grill' and the girl refused to wear a bikini top. The firing was reasonable in my opinion.

If she wears the bikini normally, but just didn't want to be on national TV in a bikini, I think it's fucked to fire her.

If she refuses to wear it on normal business days though, then you have to fire her and she should expect that.

No one should be obligated to appear on television. Boss should have just let her take a few days off while they filmed. Was this option never given to her?

I saw part of the episode. Refusing to wear the bikini top wasn't why she got fired. She got fired because she had a poor attitude and was complaining about the job and she even said that as soon she find something else, she's gone. I would've fired her too.

Sounds like an awful place to work, but quite frankly shitty bars like that are a dime a dozen. They're only worth getting worked up about if youv'e got absolutely nothing better to do with your life.

Couple of points:

1) Reality TV is anything but. Duh. Well, I should clarify that. Reality TV in the vein of Undercover Boss takes an actual real-life set piece consisting of a business and its employees and warps/stages it to fit the narrative of whatever the producer thinks is entertaining. Film is cut to make it look like John is screaming at Cindy when he's really screaming at Bob...that sort of thing.

2) As mentioned, she was "fired" for a poor attitude, job performance, etc. The whole 'wearning a bikini' thing is click/viewbait, which is why its exacerbated.

3) Rewarding a young woman with breast implants isn't by itself skeezy. Telling your newly-hired 18 year-old corporate sales intern you'll buy her fake tits if she does well this quarter is skeezy. Maybe this girl mentioned before she wanted implants and couldn't afford them/was working towards them. How is that different than rewarding her with a vacation, a car, or a financial bonus? Plus, they give away fake tits on the fucking radio for chrissake. Again, click/viewbait.

4) I put "fired" in quotation marks because its a 70/30 chance it was completely staged. Again, reality TV is anything but.

5) The majority of people who work in a low-end chain restaurant are not there to launch a career in the burgeoning restaurant industry. Its by nature a transiatory form of employment. And any young woman who works at a Hooter/Winghouse/etc restaurant is doing it because they know they're physically-attractive and they figure its easier money versus Applebees or Chilis because the middle-aged men are usually spendy around young girls. No one is being exploited. They know they're trading off a 'normal' work uniform and modesty to be able to serve food in a lacksidasical manner and STILL get tipped well.

6) In the event that she WAS fired for saying she doesn't see working at Bikini's as a permanant thing and she didn't want to wear a bikini on NATIONAL TELEVISION, that IS a bit fucked up for reasons mentioned in #4.

The real takeaway isn't the Sports Bar, which is being managed by a logical man, but the fact that a bunch of SJW's have made this go viral with outrage.
