Despite being continually used by an unfaithful and condescending girlfriend Jenny, who later gets her just-dessert, Forrest has unwavering loyalty, dignity and respect. He is disciplined, honest, and never loses sight of his values. He weaves his way through American history and for a man dealt an miserable IQ of 75, lives a remarkable life.

I grew up watching this film and going back to the original question, NO!

I back up fellow user Parlay44 about this and even worse, his idiot savant status actually prevented him from achieving full red pill status.

#1. He still married his childhood sweetheart, despite knowing fully well she did die of AIDS anyway and their kid would had been diagnosed with the same disease. Yes, he was also Captain Save-A-Ho on her hippie childhood sweetheart. Even then, there's a 50-50 chance Junior might not be his too. Ouch.

#2. He was more of a follower and less of a leader. Instead of being the Quarterback, he was more than content with being a receiver.

Also, he voluntarily signed up for the military in a war of aggression that was Vietnam. (Really, I intend to go on and on how that was Yellow Peril-inspired but that is for another topic.) He even was fully aware he was just there to follow orders.

She never wanted anything to do with him until she found out she had AIDS. She had his kid for at least 4 years and never said anything. She was probably never going to tell him at all. But at the same time she knew he was successful and to prevent his rejection of her kid and to ensure his long term survival she names him Forrest. It's a typical female mind-fuck. Fuck that bitch.
