Because our culture is trying to promote the idea that being a single middle aged women is admirable and that financial/career success can take the place of (or is more favorable to) starting a family and being a good and attentive wife and mother.

Not a very pc thing to say and I guess it's not good to tell young people not to take part in the political process though there is truth in what she says.

I'm sure we've all heard the joke about your a liberal when your in college and want equality and equalness and all that jazz and once you hit your 30's or whatever and actually have money, have a career, pay taxes then you become a concervative and don't want your hard earned money going to deadbeats and stupid social programs.

I agree most voters and the general population both conservatives and liberals are uneducated on issues but look at obamas election how many 18 year old kids were all rah rah obama I got my shirt and my bumper sticker and probably don't knwo the first thing about our government and how it works, the differences between parties, who's running, etc.

I've also heard it argued that things like MTV / PDiddiys get out hte vote or rock the vote is a stupid message. It's basically saying anyone and everyone get out and vote, who cares if you don't know anything about the issues or who's running but get out and excercise your right to vote. Whats the point of having someone vote who doesn't even know what they are voting for.

This would never happen but I've also heard people make the hypothetical argument you should have to pass a short test to vote.

My friend was taking night classes, and after the Boston bombings, some chick in his class said that there's no way the younger brother was guilty...because a guy that hot wouldn't do something like that. I had Guilfoyle's exact thought after that one.

The right to vote was dropped from 21 to 18 sometime in the late 1960's or early 1970's due to the Vietnam war and the draft. I am too lazy to Google the exact year.

So she is really right. 18 to 25 year olds often have little to no understanding of how the real world works or how important these decisions are. Since we have not had a military draft since Vietnam, almost 40 years ago, the best move would be...

Voting age at 25, unless you serve in the armed forces. It would get rid of lot of the horrible leftist ideas destroying our economy.
