Well it's not. Using your definition working the fry area at Burger King would also be considered a hustle.

If you are 16 and you are saving that cash to start a side business - then ya its hustling. If you are 40 and have been working there for 20 years then probably not.

Its a mindset not a certain place in life.

You got to build yourself up and form the habits before you get the major results. Everybody starts off small before they get big. Then you build on that and move up to higher levels.

The guys out here have left their shitty office jobs and are stacking cash faster than 95% of people the same age. They can use this to move onwards and upwards or they can blow it all on bullshit. If they use it wisely and make it work then that hustling.

You see a shithole, I see the massive potential for money/time leverage and a tough environment that sharpens your business skills and makes you a man. I talk to guys everyday up here who have changed their lives x10 better.

Think of Tony Montana in Scarface or Frank Lucas in American Gangster. Both started from the bottom, worked hard, got hustling skills first then moved into the 'life'. No one hands it to you. ''First you get the money...''

If you are going to hate on the guys up here I don't care.
I hustle everyday and I know I do. In a few years when I have massive results (I already have good results) I know where they came from.

To me its a mindset. My track record shows that I get results.

Want to define what you mean by hustling?

RE: A day in the life: Hustling
Who's hating?

I just stated what is not a hustle.

How about this.. My bills are 13000 a month and If no work comes in I still pay 13000 a month anyway I have to come up with it. Everything comes out of my pocket. Compressor blows up? No corporate office to call you better find one quick and put it in or else your fucked. This shit goes on all day. Thats a hustle.

Like Fisto said you're at a grind. Nothing wrong with that I wish I was doing it sometimes.

Okay but I still don't see the difference in your definition and mine. They are different of course but both are hustling.

I have set up my own company too and do all my own invoicing, taxs and personal equipment (tools and truck). It isn't 13,000 a month but it does cost money. Maybe I wasn't clear but I do run my own business although I do get sub-contacted by another company. I am working towards your set up though - 100% ownership and complete freedom.

I do get what you are saying about that being on a whole different level but the young guys have to work up to that. I am sure you still had a hustling mindset before you had that business.

Whatever the exact definition do you want to break down a typical day for you and show us what is involved in running your own company?

RE: A day in the life: Hustling
I didn't want to jump on this but oh well.

Atlantic, El mechanico is not hating on you, he is simply saying that this is not hustling, you simply broke down what you do during the day. Sure you are getting good money but having a job is not hustling.

A guy that buys and resells on craigslist may only make 2000 dollars a month (which is way less money than you earn) but he is hustling. Hustling was not a term created by employees, hustlers don't even like the idea of having a job.

Now, I hope you are not thinking that I am hating on you because as I said, I admire what you do and if I leave what I am doing now, I am probably going to do what you are doing but what you are doing is not hustling.

RE: A day in the life: Hustling
Alright lets not all get up caught up on the EXACT definition of 'hustling'.

The thread was to show how people on here structure their day and what they achieve in that day.

I was just hoping that El Mechanico would contribute more than a 'this thread is useless' comment.

Exact definition aside lets return to breaking down our daily habits and routines.

Man, Atlantic. You got to tone down the work related posts. Not only does Pason record everything you post while at work but at some point someone will recognize you via your posts. I'm sure a lot of folks appreciate your MWD posts but it's very risky posting as much as you do on the internet. Doubt there are many Irish dudes who work as MWD in northern BC....

Also seems like you've been pretty sensitive lately.

We were meant for far more than to suffer in our self created prisons only to die alone. It doesn't have to be that way. It never did.

RE: A day in the life: Hustling
6AM: Think about getting up. No class til 11:30/1.

8AM: Finally get up. <15 min out the door. No breakfast. Hop on the bus. Car if I'm staying on campus late.

8:30: Buy coffee at starbucks/other coffee place on campus. Think about how much money I waste on coffee. Consider not buying it but always do.

9AM: Get to campus. Think about doing daygame. Remember how I can pull almost any night from the club and girls are last on my priority list right now. Get eyefucked by girls (Apparently there are no tall good looking dudes at my school) too much. Consider it an annoyance.

9:30: Burn through notes for a quiz and other school stuff. Burn down my to do list ASAP. Talk to my Petro E buddies about how they all got internships at Chevron and other cool companies. Cold call/cold email for internships. Secretly hope I start to make $$$ with my internet business so I can tell them their 6k/mo is chump change.

11-5: Class on petroleum economics/other stuff on how to drill oil. Lunch = > spinach salad. Read books if I have an hour or two here or there. Dream about my business taking off quitting school and moving to eastern Europe.

6-10PM Work on my online business at a coffee shop, workout, or chillax if I need to unwind.

Repeat x400 for the next year and a half of my life.
