Good stuff guys - thanks. When I wrote that post I had met a young girl (23) and we were texting a little. Long story that's done - went nowhere.
OK but now I'm texting with a very cute 21 yr old that replied to a CL ad of mine. She wants to be dominated by an older man.

She asked if I'm married. I said "ha - would it be hotter if I said I was?" and she replied "I'm just curious - do tell"

I'm thinking she may not care....

If a woman wants you your status or lack thereof just doesn't matter to her. Even if you are older, married and short of which I am all three. Who knows what goes on in their minds? I sure as hell don't. I do know that if you pick up her signals you need to act fast, or she very well may suddenly go cold on you.

that's generally correct. my strategy is to admit it outright. i find it does cost me some interest from some women (almost uniformly younger ones), but not always.

i try to say something cocky/funny about it, like (i stole this one):

me: if i wasn't married I'd have to be gay, right?

her: huh?

me: girls like you are always saying, the good ones are either married or gay.
