RE: Fret Learns Russian
I just found another great video series to improve my russian: "украина без денег" (Ukraine without money). It's a Ukrainian student from Kiev that visits different cities in the country. He discusses prices, transport, places to go, whether people are helpful or not, the city's history etc etc

This video is about the city of Vinnytsia (a place I had never heard about). I can more or less understand 50 % of what he's saying, but I still find it quite useful and you can learn new vocab intuitively at some points e.g "почему так много мусора?" I could obviously tell that "musora" meant rubbish and the nominative word is мусор since it's in the genitive case because it follows the word много. I also find it interesting how russian seems to be the de facto language despite Vinnytsia being in the western part of the country.

Hahah, how did you find this? This is gold.

I don't know if I'm weird or something but I find parts of the city quite beautiful. (judging from some shots in the beginning of the video)

edit: damn, I repped you already. Would've added +1 just now.

RE: Fret Learns Russian
@Micha cheers, I dunno how I found it, I was just looking at random videos on the situation in Ukraine now I think. The guy seems a bit effeminate for a Ukrainian IMO. He also has videos on Zhatomir, Lviv and many other cities, so I'm sure any of members visiting Ukraine will find them very useful. From what I've seen, all FSU cities seem quite depressing and they all look similar apparently. The only beautiful Ukrainian cities, judging from videos and photos seem to be Lviv which has a bit of a Polish vibe in terms of architecture and perhaps Kiev.
