The more I go out the more I see it. Status can have different meanings but has a peculiarity: a man with status is someone they can boast about with their girlfriends and someone that other girls would envy them for.

For a 18yo a guy with status is someone who is the leader of his group, with lots of friends, with a very active social life, with lots of female friends and someone who is kind of athletic.

For a 28/30 yo a man with status is probably someone with a very good career that can provide her the financial security she needs to take care of her children and to take care of herself.
He can also be someone with very good connections.

There could be exceptions yeah, but the overwhelming majority of 9s and 10s are looking for those kind of guys.

What's the role of "game" in this framework?

I read and watched basically every PUA material out there and yeah it helped me getting laid, but only with 6s and 7s, something that other guys do without having read anything.

I've never banged a 9 or a 10 and every time I see them, they are with some guy with status. Game has little power to catch those girls.

There are many different forms of status than those two. For example, if a 9/10 sees you with a 9/10 that is probably the most powerful kind of status. It is called social proof. If you can become just friends with a 9/10 and just hang out with her so other girls can see you then your chances of getting a 9/10 can improve a lot. Once you have gotten a 9/10 it becomes a lot easier to get another one because of how you will treat them. There are lot of rich men out there that have never gotten an 7/8 much less a 9/10. This is true for Western countries like America. In countries like Russia, money is king.

Status is king for attracting women, and nothing will ever change that. Status is as attractive to women as beauty is to men. Game is basically nothing more than a way to give yourself a temporary status boost in the eyes of women you interact with. It's a way of communicating both verbally and non-verbally that you are a cut above most of the other men on her radar. It's not magic and it won't work miracles. Guys with nothing going for them except game aren't going to be pulling 9's and 10's on the reg, if ever. You can occasionally bullshit your way into dating a high 8 or 9 simply by really blowing her away with great game, but it's almost impossible to keep a girl like that on the hook if that's all you can offer her. She will figure out pretty quickly you were all sizzle (good game) and no steak (the lifestyle and status to back it up), and then she will walk. And thanks to that experience, she'll be even better at filtering out guys who just present themselves well using strong game from the guys who are actually high status.

Game is not a magic bullet. It's simply a tool for maximizing the effectiveness of your personal interactions with other people. Anyone who tells you that learning game will allow you to start regularly banging 9s and 10s is full of shit. Game is just one part of being able to do that. Think about it like this: 9s and 10s are the highest quality women on Earth. Every man in the world wants to fuck them. What the hell makes you think you're entitled to leapfrog every other dude in the world just because you learned decent game? It's just not that easy. Women that hot understand they have an extremely valuable commodity, and it's not something they give away to just anyone. You need to convey real value, and that requires more than just game.

There have been threads on this before, but it is still such an important issue. Neil Strauss concluded that status ultimately trumps Game. Younger guys with good looks can rely on physicality to attract high quality girls. However, as we age Game is important but Status is what unlocks the door to 8s and 9s, particularly for maintaining a sexual relationship with them.

Let's be honest, the reason most of us do better in other countries is because our status is inherently higher than the local guys. Guys aren't traveling to the Phills and Ukraine for the food, sights and infrastructure.

Plenty of 10's date losers.

They date drug users, drug dealers, gang members, starving artists, guys who could lose a few pounds, guys who could put on some weight, middle management guys, IT guys, mechanics, busboys, waiters and bartenders, et cetera.

Although I never scrape the bottom of the barrel, I do date down pretty often. Sometimes people see me with women and I know they are thinking, "Why the hell is that guy with her? As I drove through town I noticed a tall, good looking, well dressed guy in his late twenties standing behind a short, fat 5 at a pedestrian crossing. She turned to him and he lovingly bent down and kissed her lovingly; he seemed really pleased with himself.

If they'd turned their heads they would have seen me in my car, staring at them with my mouth open.

As I drove off it hit me that this dude, despite being tall, good looking etc clearly was severely lacking in either intelligence, $$$ or game.

Likewise, having a very active social life, a vast social circle and a good physique are features that a guy should have if he wants to score with the best girls.

Money are just useless, at least for girls that are less than 30yo. I don't know why lots of people maintain that girls are attracted to money and that if you have money you can score with the all the girls you want. It's not like that, at all.
18/19 years old girls don't give a fuck about money or they care very little.

I'm kind of lucky in the money department, my father is a CEO and my family is well above par in terms of finances but I didn't get any edge for that.

I spent my first 18 years in a midsize city in Central Italy where girls were after "bully guys".
Then I moved to Milan to attend a top tier private college, and, even though I performed better I didn't get the results I wanted.
During my first year as a freshman and in the year after that I went out with some of my college peers and we spent an astounding amount of money in bottle services at the most exclusive clubs, clothes, casinos in Switzerland (we used to go there because there are lots of beautiful girls inside), trips around Europe/USA and private parties but I didn't score with the girls I wanted.

I have to say that aesthetically I wasn't beyond par, quite the opposite actually. I had an underbite (so I had braces) and since I suffered bad acne during my teen years I had some acne scars (I still have some but after lots of laser treatments they are almost gone).
Furthermore, my body was below par. I was too lazy to go to the gym and I was very skinny because I (along with my friends and many others) took massive doses of stimulants such as Adderall, Vyvanse, Ritalin ecc to enhance our GPA. It worked but as a side effect, when I was on it I didn't have the urge to eat so I lost lots of weight.

The skinny looks, along with my underbite and some acne scars screwed me over!

Now I look better but still I can't score with the girls I like.

Lot of guys who get into game want 8,9 and 10 but there are plenty of guys out there who are not into banging models and striving to be playboys. Perhaps this woman provides with something that another woman can't such as mental and emotional stimulus.

At the end of the day, getting involved with very hot women, give or take can cause problems with them cheating, having over sense of entitlement and everything else. I know some attractive guys who are with women below them on the looks scale and its not to do with them unable to pull hot women, far from it. If you can get a 6 now you take her. Then try for a 7, then an 8, and so on... It's just like lifting weights. You don't go and try to lift really heavy weights right away. You have to allow your muscles to build up so you can lift heavier weights. It's the same way with women. I'll settle for the good physique even if it means only fucking 6s and 7s. The other two sound like a horrible amount of work (only half joking here, some people claim the distinctions between introverts and extroverts are all in our own beliefs - I disagree, keeping up with a even a small social circle can often feel draining to me, particularly as I've gotten older).

Status is so context dependent, its almost impossible to talk about in general.

Frequently status means mastery or expertise.

I once posted a thread about this 50 years old Indian dude with a very cute 23 girl. While he's not ugly he's no model. Just a school teacher with meager salary. But he is a beast sensei in martial arts and he keeps landing cute martial arts girls on the regular. In that context, his deadly skills provide him the ultimate status.

In a night setting, the guy with the best looks and most captivating presence will attract the most attention and has the highest status.
