This is related to the Ray Rice thread, but I think it deserves its own post. In response to the Rice scandal, a woman named Beverly Gooden started a hashtag campaign to raise awareness about domestic abuse survivors, #WhyIStayed.

The Daily News quotes her in a story: "I hope those tweeting using #WhyIStayed find a voice, find love, find compassion, and find hope."

Let me drop some knowledge on you all: women like this get with guys like that because the love high drama, and then they create campaigns not to help others, but to recapture and prolong their own private soap opera.

When they leave an abusive guy, they usually just find another, because they're drawn every emotion being amped up to eleven. Any guy who treats a woman like this well will be rejected as "boring" or "wimpy" or "I think of you like a brother."

It's a huge mistake for White Knights to try and "save" these women. People don't change, for the most part, and women definitely don't respond to patronizing "campaigns."

Great post, thank you for putting into words what I think a lot of people are thinking.

There was a similar post on Huff Post justifying staying. The end result is, of course, these women accept NO responsibility for their behavior.

Regarding that chart, how many women use a lot of those tactics?

Use emotional abuse? Check.

Deny, Blame & Minimize? Check.

Use children? Oh fuck yes they do.

How many men have dated a manipulative shrew? I'd venture to guess around 100%. You know what the answer to dating a manipulative shrew is? STOP FUCKING DATING HER.

It's the same thing with these women on everything. If a man was with a woman who exhibited behavior shown on that chart and complained to his friends, the response would be to bail immediately. But with women, the focus is entirely on the victimization.

Of course no one should physically or emotionally abuse another person. But these women are taught if they feel a certain way, then they are justified to keep repeating the behavior that puts them in a bad position.

I dated a woman who was cute, great body, good personality…until I found out she had a serious drug problem that began to severely affect her behavior. So what did I do? I used my HEAD and bailed. It didn't feel good to lose the amazing sex, but often logic (and common sense) overrides feeling. But I won't hold my breath to wait for these women to live up to these standards, which are basically standards of a human adult.

Just scrolling through the feed I see a ton of girls saying that they thought they could change him.

Why do women/girls find this to be acceptable behaviour? I'd like to think it's the influence of the Prince Charming disney-thing mixed with the insatiable need for women to be in control. They want to be able to say that they took a guy, and like moulding clay, transformed him from a useless lump into something better.

No wonder guys get pissed off, enduring endless nagging in the desire for them to be changed. The hypocrisy is endless. Why would women even want to be with a guy who needs to be changed?

Two point on this:

1). There is a subset of guys who do their version of this. They try to win the hearts of sluts and show them "true love." You see them a lot in Christian communities. The blog Dalrock goes on about this sometimes.

2). Be glad you weren't around in the early 1990s. Back then, there were girls who would aggressively pursue gay guys, thinking they could convert them. We called them "fag hags." There's even a "Seinfeld" episode about this from '95, "The Beard." One major upside of gay culture going mainstream is that this type of woman seems to have disappeared. Perhaps her type is now pursuing Ray Rice's type...

Which is why I laugh out loud when people call these wifebeaters 'alpha' males, all while she is driving his ass around because he has no car, shacking up with her because he has no job, etc. He can afford to beat her because he has no job to get fired from. Real alphas are successful in life, and are in control of the woman.

Except their pie share would have twice as many slices
