What if the climate where you live is shitty large parts of the year? Is going to sunnier and warm climates for a few months a year pointless in that case?

That´s good topic. Actually the most of things written here I have already achieved - I am 23 (not the financial, I am going to save money until 30+ and then eventually quit job and starting something on my own with earned money).
But I realized, that I have no other goals, than "live good". And that´s not good, it´s better to set up some concrete goals. I have degree, know 2 foreign languages, got well-paid job and don´t know what to do next, except of working and making savings.

When I am thinking of it, maybe there´s something. But I am just starting new era of my life and must spend some time in it, to recognize what are my other desires.

I think everyone before 30 should spend atleast 3 months on a solo trip to live in a developing country. It will likely change your perspective on life greatly. You'll also appreciate much more the living their experience compared to the 1 week in and out trips. The best thing in life is your relationships with friends and family. In a longer trip you will cultivate those. In a 1 week trip you won't.

I remember before I took my first long solo trip that I used to admire the rich Dentists, Doctors and Bankers that I know who were middle aged and had nice cars, big houses, cottage, a boat etc. Now I look at all that stuff and think fuck what a boring existence. These guys are living to work rather than working to live.

I am 10x more jealous of some of the digital nomads on here like Beyond Borders than the guys who have high incomes like Hank Moody.

I agree. But it's bittersweet--you establish some great relationships with the locals, only to leave it all behind.

Moving on is nature's way, whether we like it or not.

Travel. Do cheap ass travel while you are young, nothing will educate you, broaden your thinking and set you up with vital life lessons like 6 months travel.

Get self employed. I don't care if you don't make tons,just learn how to be your own boss and it will come from there after 30.

Don't be married, have kids or be injured.

By the time I'm 30 my goals are to be debt free, pulling 100k a year, bench twice my weight, and saving half of what I make while pulling great poon consistently. I would like too travel but I don't have the specifics worked out yet for that goal. Western Europe, Thailand,China, and Brazil definitely come to mind though.

There's a lot of cool experiences I've had, and a lot of things I've missed out on. I've done more than a lot of people do in their lifetime, but at the same time I feel like I could have accomplished more by now.

At the end of the day, I think the thing that is important is that you grow from difficulties and obstacles that inevitably present themselves, and that you live a life that you can be proud of.

Something I've had to overcome was the idea that I had to be in a certain place in my life by a certain time. Everyone lives at their own pace. Some people live to achieve (ie. high powered CEOs), some people live to enjoy the moment (ie. surfer bro). Both are cool in their own way. I'm somewhere in the middle, as I suspect most are, and that's cool too.

I agree with what some of the other posters say about traveling. Be adventurous - try new things, go new places, meet all sorts of people, be afraid, be confident, etc. This is the stuff that gives you clarity for what you truly want from life.

If you don't know what you want out of life, I think figuring it out is what you should be doing, and if you do know, then... you already know.
