Some percentage of college aged girls prefer older (mid-30ish) men. So do as Gio suggests. Also, some will call you the creepy old guy.

It's not the 9 who hate to worry about. Focus on the 10% who like older men.

Gio - I'm not taking classes this semester. I did some shopping at the mall today and was trolling some 17 and 18 year olds. I guess I'm gonna have to go back to my old stomping ground.

Yes, I guess-simate that around 10-20% of college girls like older men. So, for every 10 college girls I approach, I should have a decent chance with at least 1 or 2 of them. I am 36 but look a bit younger. If I approach 10 a week I should have 1 or 2 new prospects each week.

I rarely get the "creepy old man" thing. But, it does happen every once in a while. A girl will say - "how old are you"? or "You know im 18 right"?

I don't sweat it. I move on to the next one.

As my game has gotten better, it happens less and less. If you can keep the encounter playful, light hearted, and humorous, she will not get any sense of creepiness. If you are to serious and give off a weird vibe, she might think its creepy.
