Out of interest, do people 'study things' in colleges in the US?

I was of the opinion that a college/university is where you go after school to learn specific valuable things which you will then use as part of a career.

It seems that they are more about people getting worked up about bullshit. Doesn't seem a valuable way to spend your time and money to me.

Only a handful learn anything useful like STEM fields, etc.

Mainly kids learn righteousness, victimization and special snowflake (it's a class look it up). Guys learn to put their balls in a jar. All while loading up on debt.

I'll say it again: Someone needs to take the piss out of these idiots and start carrying around another mattress. They could go one of two ways. The serious route would be to get ten big jocks to help one other jock out with his "burden". Make sure to take it to the busiest buildings/thoroughfares on campus such that it becomes a safety risk for evacuation from fires, etc. Escalate the whole thing so that eventually, no one is allowed to carry a mattress around.

The non-serious route would be to make it very playful. Take photos of it at keg parties and so on. Have free vodka shots for any passerby who would take photos with it. Turn the whole thing into a giant, mobile party.

What's wrong with the youth of today? Haven't they seen Animal House?

The youth of today doesn't rebel against the status quo, they're it's most zealous supporters.

One example:
While in the past college students might have fought to be able to listen to or read whatever they want, the youth of today does shit like fight to get songs and authors banned or slapped with "trigger warnings".
There's a list of banned songs for my Uni's radio station for God's sake, organized by students. I think it started after that Robin Thicke song was released.

Every time I walk around my campus it's like I fell through a portal into retardoland.

Showed my mother the pictures in this thread and the articles related. I asked her if this looks like a woman who was raped.

My mother was confused and disheartened to understand that this woman is a fraud and using "rape" as an excuse to attention whore because she felt guilty being smashed and dashed.

How can real rape victims look at women like her and think; "gee, wish I could do that".

Millennials are in for a massive shock when they realise what a bunch of rubes they have been. They're going to be saddled with massive debt (personal and public) and degraded public institutions. Their entire society and culture has been completely poisoned, their inheritance pissed away by their parents' generation. They will try to pretend it isn't so, but the smack in the head they get from reality will be beyond anyone's powers of denial it will be so huge. They are going to be one very, very pissed off generation when they hit middle age and beyond, and due to their special snowflake status, they'll also be completely unable to deal with it.
