Tom Cochrane is hardly a one hit wonder. He was one of Canada's top hit makers for more than two decades. I can name a dozen of his songs going all the way back to 1980.

This is the first song I remember. For some reason it brings back very strong memories of cutting my parent's lawn and playing street hockey in the summertime of 1980.

Missing Persons - had a hit with "Walking in LA", couldn't stand it, but discovered this gem of a tune on the album. Zappas old drummer Terry Bozzio plays on this, this tune is just too cool, and the drumming is fantastic.

Terry Bozio, Zappa's drummer, was married to the former Hustler model and lead singer of Missing Persons, Dale Bozio. They met while working with Zappa.

As for their music, well it was at the front edge of New Wave. Walking in LA was released as a single and musically is not a great song although the lyrics are interesting. Destination Unknown and Words (What are Words For?) are better musically. All three have fairly dark lyrics which you might enjoy if you are a Zappa fan.

I can remember when MP hit. I used to listen to an album oriented rock station in Ft. Lauderdale that had a special feature at 10 pm called Especially for Headphones. Walkmans had just come out and headphones really lent themselves to New Wave. They'd play Missing Persons, the Cars, Flock of Seagulls, etc.

Found lots of drummers trying to cover Bozzios playing on U.S. Drag in this current day ( 2018 )...this gives me such a kick. A track laid down in 1882! The guy does a great job...
