"NATO is reportedly planning to send an expeditionary force composed of 10,000 troops from seven different member states to Ukraine amid rising tensions with Russia over the conflict in Eastern European country.

The creation of the force will be led by Britain and involve contributions from Denmark, Latvia, Estonia, Lithuania, Norway, and the Netherlands, media outlets reported on Saturday."

There are some other links online and the story is still just releasing... but seriously what the heck is nato thinking? Are they trying to get Russia to invade full force?

Disgraceful from NATO, the European countries will dither as soon as Lavrov threatens to turn off the gas supply. The other BRICs are quietly putting their support behind Russia. India being the most vocal, lets see what happens, worst case would be a full out war, just under that would be a full blown trade war.

It should be noted that Germany and France have excluded themselves entirely.

Speaking of BRICS, I'm sure this has something to do with the IMF.

What I am trying to figure out is what exactly is NATO trying to accomplish here?

So far RT and PressTv (Iran news) is reporting this. The article says that this taskforce would be reveleaded the next 4th of September. Until then, i will wait to see if it is truth or not.

Unfortunately, RT and PressTV are misreporting the story. The task for would be for Poland, the Baltic States and Romania.

Still, who knows what is really going on behind the scenes.

NATO lies through its teeth, so maybe the ultimate goal is to move those troops into Ukraine to "de-escalate" the crisis.

I don't think it's a big secret that the Ukrainians are getting arms from the West all the time. Including the piles of old Soviet equipment remaining from old times, e.g. http://www.defensenews.com/article/20140...rs-Ukraine. Doesn't seem to help so far, and anything that NATO sends, Russia will match and then some.

There's been a ton of propaganda re posters, signs and TV commercials trying to recruit men into the army ranks. Been going on for many weeks now especially after the independence day parade(s).

UA is claiming that RU troops executed hundreds who surrendered.
