They talk about negging, push pull and portray Mystery as some insecure maniac/manipulator. Of course as always the women are 'the victims', the men are the white knights and there is some fat broad at the controls and the killer is one of the evil pickup artists... how dare men try to attract women by taking a class. Maybe this is old news but I just saw this on BRAVO (channel) and thought I would comment on it for those that also may have missed it the first time around.

Make mention of Alpha/Betas and all sorts of game related jargon. They show an older woman viciously beating a young boy and later show the white knights getting women, lots of eye rolling from 'strong police women' and a demasculization of the 'mystery' character.

One of the staples of American entertainment is the Antisocial Personality Disorder afflicted serial killer. It's perhaps the only thing more played out and more tired than the Zombie Genre. Anything that can tie into this to scare/thrill bored women into watching these shows, they will use it. And like a good yakuza/gangster flick would draw in a guy, women gush over this stuff. Some guys do too, because they find those kinds of men captivating as well. When Hollywood finds some screwy and niche angle to display the same conflict, it is considered smart, new, and hip. Only someone with a dull mind would not see through it. Women themselves are drawn to dangerous and charming men directly and indirectly. So the idea of a simple class or set of youtube videos making an automation of men like this (like a robot factory), is "creepy" of course.

Also anytime something like that Elliot mess happens, there will always be a hundred adaptations to whatever popular crime shows are on TV at the time. That's just a given.

CSI: Miami did much the same several years ago in an episode that aired about two years prior to the Criminal Minds episode. While they didn't quite get to "Alpha/Beta", they used "Negs" and "Creepy" left and right. While I won't spoil the ending....you can guess who the bad guy ended up being.

I remember watching this episode about few months ago, and couldn't find any mention in the manosphere comment on it. Almost posted about it here, but assumed the statute of limitations made it irrelevant.

I love how they claim "queen bee" is a PUA term for an alpha female. Sounds like they really did their research.

Kyra Sedgwick vehicle "The Closer" also had a Mystery figure episode in 2009, "Tapped Out," but the idea and show are played for laughs. From a review:

the murder victim was Mark Bernstein, also known as “Intrigue.” Sanchez (Raymond Cruz), upon hearing the name “Intrigue” knows of him, he’s the "Hook-Up King" who created “The Intrigue Technique” - a way to pick up women.
...he should have checked the computer’s DVD drive. The drive contains some of the recordings for Intrigue’s series and how he picks up women, where Intrigue is stating, “She got tapped.” This seems to disgust everyone but Sanchez, who is clearly a student of Intrigue’s teachings. After watching one woman be humiliated in one of the eight episodes filmed, Brenda asks "He did this to eight women and he only got shot once?"

This is because a lot of writers (I've interacted with several) are white knights/betas themselves.

Guys who can pick up women are portrayed as bad, or at best sleazy, unless they learn the error of their ways.

A perfect example, as I've mentioned, is Crazy, Stupid, Love.

Juianne Moore's character cheats on her husband, Steve Carrell's character, and wants a divorce. HE has to move into an apartment and the movie revolves around HIM winning her back. During this period, while they are separated, he bangs several women and is shamed for it. He tearfully declares that he should've fought harder for her.

Ryan Gosling's character bangs tons of women, learns the 'error of his ways' from Emma Stone's character, who is dating a successful, yet boring beta. When he doesn't propose when she thought he would, she immediately seeks out RG's character to bang.

Babysitter has crush on SC's character. I don't know what to make of that, except that chicks like older dudes?

In all seriousness, there are countless examples of how poorly men who pick up women are portrayed in TV/movies, as the examples in this thread show. Women who sleep around? There have been very successful shows based entirely on that concept (Sex In The City, Girls).

Funny also how she says, that Game is teaching men to be something they are not. Typical feminine imperative - Guys should just get it and just be themselves.

When you see those kind of things, then you know that full indoctrination is under way. Also - the White-Knight-Omega-FBI-Agent in a sweater pulls a chick via magic tricks and one magic trick that David Copperfield would be envious about. Right - again the meme of Beta getting the hot barmaid that gets hit on by tons of good-looking Alphas.

How should men "get it", when they are indoctrinated non-stop since childhood via media, fiction and their own mothers, that the Beta nice guy gets the girl in the end? All the media acknowledges is good looks in men and wealth. No wonder the PUAHate sheisters saw this as the only option at attracting women - either you are a billionaire or you have grand looks - otherwise you are destined to be married to your hand or to a land-whale.

Men should stop watching TV altogether. Really - they should - if they did, then Hollywood would have to scramble up some reality into their feminist crap-fest. And men should also stop supporting the privatized propaganda-ministry by buying DVDs, paying for Netflix or god-forbid going to cinema with their dates, girlfriends and wives. Feminism in it? Go fuck yourself. See how you sell your shit, if no men are watching the tube-box.

One recent example of how Players are portrayed :





This is a recent comedy with Cameron Dias in which she found out that her mini-relationship guy was married and had several other girlfriends. Sure - the guy was not honest about his affairs, but he was portrayed as an all-around-charmer, who is great to be around and fantastic in bed.

The women take revenge, ruin him financially and this is how they portray him in the end - a weak, emasculated, childish guy - putting in even some gore into the story, since it is always funny how men are getting hurt. Typical feminist crap-fest that is mainstream Hollywood nowadays.
