The reasons for this are the following:

1. Greater financial pressure - her divorce calculation does not sound so good as 7 years ago

Evolutionarily speaking, it is in the best interest of the female to be impregnated by the man with the best genetics i.e. the most alpha man (who is usually the tallest, strongest, most intelligent and socially dominant man). This ensures that her offspring will inherit these superior genetics.

However, throughout history, the female had always faced a problem in this situation - the chance that the alpha male will commit solely to looking after only her and her offspring is very low, as he is most likely spending his time impregnating other women.

This is where the beta male comes in. The beta male is starved for sex, and the female knows this. The beta male is willing to provide resources and energy in exchange for sex.

The ideal situation is for the female is to be impregnated by an alpha male, whilst getting a beta male to commit to providing for her by tricking him that into thinking that the child is actually his.

It's always been like this, and this is not going away anytime soon. You cannot fight biology.

Number one, definitely. Since the economy went to crap in the US, lots of these women probably had to re-think their scheme since the next stop on the carousel isn't a guarantee of shelter.

And man, does that ad tell you everything you need to know - especially that it's socially acceptable to produce, publish and enjoy it as a big joke with no damage to the company sponsoring it.

Agreed, that commercial is the truth, right down the looks and body language of the dudes to the fact that a 5 is the one going on two dates. That ad agency is either run by chicks or RVF members
