Chiang mai is pretty good right now if you want somewhere to go that won't drain your cash as it's not a huge nightlife city and there are plenty of decent girls around if you invest time.

Uber is also ridiculously cheap. Trips from Old town to Nimman barely run over 45-50thb.

The thing with Chiang Mai right now is the air quality is horrible:

Not really for the time being. Lots of people leave for a few months and come back after Songkran is it's usually better by then. This year is another story though.

I'm in Bangkok and started to have problems from the shitty air. I bought an air purifier for my room which helps a lot
