To me, this is just like when women constantly talk about other guys who hit on them, people saying how beautiful they are, and guys who are into them, etc. Another pet peeve of mine.

They're just trying to build themselves as desirable to you, and I think it's done out of a place of insecurity.

To me, it's a real turn-off and only has the effect of making me look down on them more. I'm not sure why women don't get it - feminism has really screwed up their perception of what makes a woman desirable, I guess.
